"Clean Park Assist Sensors"

Post by 04Ram2500Hemi » Sun Nov 16, 2014 1:40 pm

I posted this over on Dodge Talk, but I thought I'd throw this up here too. So yesterday I decided to wash the truck while it wasn't snowing, but it was around 10F. On the way home I got a "Clean Park Assist Sensors" message on my Evic, and the light on the dash where you shut off the backup sensor turned on. I figured I had some ice on the sensors and didn't think much of it. I park in an insulated garage where it's about 38F right now, and I've let the truck sit overnight not thinking much about it. Well I just went out to the truck and the message still comes on. I decided to take my wife's hair dryer to the sensors, and ran it over each one at different angles for about 45-60 seconds each. I jump in the truck and turn the key and the message is still there. Is there a reset for these sensors, or do I need to drive the truck for a few miles to reset the message? Just curious who else has ran into this. If it helps my Power Wagon is a 2012.

Well after letting the truck sit all weekend I jumped in the truck to head to work this morning and the light on the dash was still on. About 500 yards or so later I got up to speed and the doors locked, and right after that the light on the dash went off. Apparently it just needed to reset itself. Now if it would just warm up outside, it was 6F this morning. I already miss summer!

We haven't seen 25F in over a week, maybe even a week and a half. Maybe we'll see something about 25F today.

It will only get to 76 here today, but I still need to wear sunblock. Very inconvenient, but we have learned to live with it.

We generally can't fry an egg on our hood or dash either, we have learned to live with it.

Well, I'm going hunting Friday and I won't have to leave the truck running all day, and I won't have to go defrost my gun periodically.
