Switch panel

Post by AceMan » Fri Jul 20, 2012 12:00 pm

I ordered a Jeep switch panel that holds 4 switches. I haven't got around to installing it yet, but as you can see, it fits perfectly in the center console under the bezel.

Very cool! ;) I'll have to get something like that once I start going down the extra lighting road.

There's actually something specific from Dodge for the 4G utilizing the cubby hole, unless you have heated seats and power rear window. I'll have to dig up the thread at DT that someone posted in one of the non-PW sections in this.

The switches were $10 each, and the panel was $20. When I get back to my computer, I'll dig up the eBay link for the seller. I remember the eBay store is called PORC: Performance off-road something....

Fopr the 4G trucks, here is the Mopar switch panel:

Pics are posted in a DT thread:

Ken, if you don't have an account at DT, if I get a few moments, I'll download each pic and post them up here. But I think you should just create an account at DT so you can see all the other things posted. :D

FYI, if anyone's interested in these switch panels and switches, they are available from this eBay seller in these links:

Blue switch: $9.98 (They have red, amber and green, too)
http://www.ebay.com/itm/261039585871?ss ... 1439.l2649

JEEP JK WRANGLER 07-09 LOWER DASH SWITCH PANEL $19.95
http://www.ebay.com/itm/261078173222?ss ... 1439.l2649

I j ust bought two more. I'm thinking of cutting the two and combining the panel to get 6 switches mounted. I think 6 would be the max and still preserve the backing integrity to mount it.

Yeah I like those switches. I couldn't find nice switches like those a few weeks ago. I picked up a few cheap lights a few weeks ago. When I get the urge to install something it must be installed now, I can't wait for parts!

I just took this. I don't know if all years PW come with this small removable panel. I liked this switch the most between 3 local parts stores. some of them look downright cheesy to me.

That's my pedal adjuster switch (adjust them in and out).

I have pics posted of my switches once I get them in. It should look the one below.

Also, check out the switches in the A column.

Funny how my pics seem to pick up dirt you can't really see by eye but other guys pics of the outside are sparkling clean? Anyhow I'll be picking up a different switch for sure. thanks

YOu mean between the switch panel itself? Yea, a good camera and flash will pick it right up.

That switch panel is pretty cool. I thought about doing something similar with my 4th Gen when I was hooking lights up but I went a different route. The 3rd Gen's are much more user friendly for extra switches.

The 4G has a specific switch panel offered by Mopar for the cubby hole, as long as you don't have that spot already taken up from other options. I saw it on a thread elsewhere, which even provided the Mopar part#, so I would have to dig it up, if you need to see it.

I saw that thread on DT but I went a different route- this is from my build thread on Dodge Talk: http://www.dodgetalk.com/forums/showpos ... tcount=162

Ahh, I remember seeing that. Nice and clean installation.

And I should have done my heated seat switches like that. I opted to put them on the dash, but never got around to finishing them. They are just hanging there. I wanted to be able to see if they were on or off, because I got the wrong type of heated seats that don't automatically turn off when you turn off the ignition. I hate them. The guy already had them installed and read before I found out. I was pissed. But that's $300 I don't feel like dealing with.

And I also saw that '12 expedition PW with Carli parts, camper, etc. Pretty cool. They do show sliders capable of holding air to fill up tires. That part I don't remember reading in the past. FYI, if anyone's interested, here's the link. Check out the sliders. I may post a separate thread about this one!
