Re: Rigid Dually Fog assembly

joshet89 wrote:There was someone asking about if any one has installed the rigid dually fog light bracket. I installed the brackets and 2 sets of duallys (1 set of spot and 1 set of flood) on my 2013 and then removed and re-installed on my 2014 as well. I have been very happy with them and use them on my commute home from work which is mostly dark county roads and almost always driven after dark, at least that is what it feels like this time of year  . The install was very easy and took less than an hour. I wanted to make sure they worked with the factory fog light switch so I purchased a fog light extension so I could solder the 2 connectors from the duallys to the extension and then just plug the whole assembly into the factory plug. The extension I purchased needed some extra water proofing so I put liquid electrical tape around the back of the wires going into the plastic housing. When attaching the duallys to the bracket I installed the spot on the inner part of the bracket and the floods on the outer part. I had marked my factory fog light beams on my garage door and made sure the spots where a little below the factory spots and have very even and wide disbursement.

Where did you buy the fog light extension?

Many thanks in advance,

Mike

Bought them from 8lig and they work for about 2 seconds before the CANBUS shuts them down. That's on my 2016. Earlier models might work.

Threw this light bar on the other day. Just an ebay special, $150.00 240w. I like it because it is low profile and has a dark finish to it. Seems to put out decent light. I still need time to dial in the angle.

Heres my setup, cheapest 52" curved i could find on amazon. Mounted in my own made brakets (1/8" steel plate)
Then i realised it was stupid and useless cause it would glare so much inside thru the windshield on the dash. So I thought about solutions for a while and a simple glareshield deal right under the light is what i ended up doing. I like the look of it, poeple tell me it reminds them of the old school visor that guys would put above their windshields. And it works perfect, no more glare inside whatsoever!

Looks great man!

I like how low the light bar sits, every set of brackets I've found online sets the light bar up high enough to block the roof marker lights.

Thanks man! Yeah that bothers me too about all the brackets ives seen on the market, you might be able to install them at the height you want im not sure.. i wanted to see the marker lights and also i only have a few inches between my roof and the top of my garage door so i couldn't put it up above

Curious if anyone has any experience with AUXBEAM LED bars ? https://www.auxbeam.com/?gclid=CMjWy4ra ... swodLcIHHw

Everything I have read on the "cheaper" light bars seems to be the same. Buy them new. Get them. Take them apart. Silicone backside of plastic lens so no condensation occurs. I'm liking the 54" curved light bar w/spot-flood combo. https://www.auxbeam.com/led-light-bars/ ... s/70019592

I absolutely love the look of your bumpers and grill sprayed with Linex!! I'm thinking of doing the same to my 2012 PW SL. Is it expensive and if you could, would you do it over again (how is it holding up over time)?

Finally placed my order to Auxbeam. 2 of these for the A-pillar lights: https://www.auxbeam.com/driving-light/77704267 . And 1 of these: https://www.auxbeam.com/led-light-bars/ ... d%20Bar%5D for the bumper.

Sorry for the late response- my account is goofy and won't let me post pictures so I don't visit much anymore. With that said, the Line-X on the bumpers and the grill (as well as the rockers and my headache rack) are holding up great. I think each bumper was around $250 and the grill was $200, so not cheap, but not oober expensive. I was just getting tired of having to spend hours each spring on my bumpers and grill after a long winter. If I was buying a new truck today it would be one of my first mods.

Anyone have more pics of off-road lights on a 2017? Just starting to look around for ideas, would like some to light up the ditches to watch for bambi.

On car id they have some hinge mounts, anyone use these? Or have any input?

There are several guys on here running the sdhq pillar lights. My truck is a '16 but I have four rigid d2 driving hi/lows in the stock fog light location I can use onroad on low setting providing major extra coverage out to the sides of the road for deer spotting. Not to mention the pack of pigs that ran out in front of me even with the lights. If an animal or packs running full blast lights won't really save you. If I slow way down it gives me a degree of extra time to react. The behind the grill lights are rigid r46 round spot/hyperspot I picked up on sale for $200 for the pair. I can't even describe the range they provide. I'm guessing a good 1/4 mile if not more.
