That's still almost double from what they're know for regardless. How many of those miles are off road? Could be the difference, most of the others that I've heard complain about 25K miles are street queens and usually diesels.

Those guys are typically the ones that like to stand on the gas and brake pedals at the same time and "let the smoke out of the tires," then cry when they have to buy new ones every year

For those considering a tire larger than the stock 33" Duratrac's, here's a few side-X-side comparison pics of a mounted 37x12.5xR17 Nitto Ridge Grappler and an unmounted 285/70/15 (32.8") GY Duratrac.

I'm interested to hear some long term feedback on those tires

New tires, Toyo ATs in 305-70-17 (34 x 12.50), replaced 1/2 worn 295-70 Nitto Trails due to tire noise.

The Toyo's ride better, are quieter (make some noise, just not bogger loud). Real test for me will be snow performance. As long as they don't suck as bad as the AT's I will be happy.

Nitto Dune Grappler 315/70 R17 on stock wheels. Very good so far. 2015 PowerWagon is new to me, 12,000 miles. Obtained the tires off of a racing application with good tred. D 121Q rating is below what I wanted but thought I'd try it. Very quiet and very good traction in the dirt so far. Also, 35" tire installed just fine in the spare, but the maximum will be a true 35" tire. Mine measured 34.6" and I had to push the exhaust heat shield back just a bit. 37" tire might require more significant modification or might not work at all. Of note, and fun, my first trip out required a hummer rescue, after an incident. We all love hearing that right!

I just put some new shoes on the beast today. It had 265's on it when I bought it used. Why? I have no clue!

Decided to go with Duratrac's for the snow around here and went up in size to 315. I think it looks awesome and not going with a 37" tire saved me a few bucks.

Now to get the TPMS light to turn off!!!

Just installed a set of nitto exo. 35x12.5...last pic...285,305,35"

Went for a ride with the new tires..approx 400 miles...set up my trail cams...on the hwy no complaints..some noise at 70mph...lost a little mpg...rides well..some roll but il be changing the track bar and steering soon...on the grass field traction was way better than the Terra's even going up slopes...just waiting for the snow and then mud

I am on the pavement a good 90% of time. The only time I leave the pavement is when I get a call from my son asking me to come pull his friends out of the mud in their heavy Diesels, or when I am in the woods hunting. The other 2% of the time is when I go up and visit WhiteyBlack in Uharrie, which if I had to guesstimate I would say I have roughly 30 miles off road in Uharrie.

I do not drive OX like those mall-crawler owners do, as I know what would happen to my tread life, not to mention the maintenance. I will end it by stating I rarely go over 2200 RPMs on the pavement, which I would say contributes to my long tread life.

Just got new Nitto Ridge Grapplers. havnt put many miles on them, but love them so far. I didnt have any Rub full steer side to side. They measure just about 36" mounted on truck. Didnt get off truck measure. some pics, I love the full wheel wells now. 2016 Tradesman

Hey, sorry didnt see reply. I love the 37s, they ride really nice at highway speeds, seem like a smooth tire. The tread is a little more aggressive looking in person. I was surprised , its stock suspension, and they dont rub anywhere, Im sure if I took it off road and stuffed it it would , but in normal driving I havnt got it to hit. They measure about 36" mounted on the truck. I have the Thuren front kit on order should be in this week.

It did kill a little off the line pick- up, I may look into a tuner down the road to see if I can adjust shift points? not sure if anyone has that available. It lugs a little until it shifts down. Not enough to bother me or take the smile off my face .LOL I think the tow/ haul mode works a little better around town, I have been switching back and forth between it and normal mode. To me it looks the way it should have come from the factory now. Tires smoothed out bumps a little, but still feel a little, I have been running around 48- 50 Lbs in them, so I may air down a little more. Now have to see if I can get TPMS reset ??? lol

Yeah, thought about that, but not wanting to put any more money into truck than I have to. Honestly the only thing that bothers me is when it lugs because it doesnt downshift when you are coasting at a slower speed. If someone had a tuner at some point to re-set shift points, I would be totally good with it.

Yea, that drives me nuts even with the stock tires. I cant hardley wait till a tuner comes out that allows changes to shift points.

So other than shift points, the 37s arnt too bad with the 4.10s?

This is exactly why I went with the Nitto Trail Grappler m/t's because they had the widest tread of the 35x12.5's. Love them by the way.

I only ever put M/T's on my trucks and the worst tire I've ever had was the Kumho Road Venture M/T. They cupped, they squirmed bad, and almost killed me going down down a wet highway. Driving steady down the road and the back tires just break loose and I started to jack knife with my 21ft empty travel trailer. The 18wheeler just behind me backed off and let me have both lanes and both sets of shoulders in a miraculous feat of getting it all back straight again. It was weird looking out the back side glass an seeing my own trailer. The only tire I've ever been compelled to write a negative review about.

Anyone have pics of the 285/75/17 on a 2014+ PW? I am very curious how they look and handle.

35x12.5 17 10 ply on stock wheels. No level/lift and stock control arms.

Have a tad bit of rubbing (expected) on upper and lower arms at full lock. These are the quietest MTs I've heard. Almost no road noise. Will report off road traction when I get play a little.





Going to test rubbing at flex in the ditch tomorrow when cutting some trees.

How have these held up long term? Snow, Ice, Mud, Gravel? I have been considering these or a Dick Cepek Fun Country in a 35 12.50 17. Thanks

There's not much in this thread about the OEM Duratracs, so I figured I would contribute here and share some tread wear data. I'm still on the stock, original tires on my 2014 Power Wagon. The tires have been wearing exceptionally well and haven't required a rotation based on tire wear. Even though I manage to get 17mpg on the highway, The Power Wagon is Not my daily driver - I have more efficient and effective ways to get to work.

The stock tires are Goodyear Duratrac 285/70-17 with an initial tread depth of 18/32". This size was designed by Goodyear to run on a 8.5" wide rim, the recommended rim width range is 7.5"-9", and our stock Power Wagon rims are 8" wide. Optimum fuel mileage and tread wear can be obtained by running max rated pressure. Contrary to popular opinion, running at the max rated pressure is Not going to wear out the center of your tread and the data below confirms this. I run the Duratracs at 65 psi cold, which equates to about 70 psi on the highway after an hour at 70 mph.

Here are the tread depth readings that I took today:

Legend:
P = passenger side
D = driver side
R = rear
F = front
I = inside
C = center
O = outside

PRI = 15/32"
PRC = 16/32"
PRO = 16/32"

DRI = 16/32"
DRC = 16/32"
DRO = 15/32"

PFI = 15/32"
PFC = 16/32"
PFO = 15/32"

DFI = 15/32"
DFC = 16/32"
DFO = 15/32"

I probably will rotate the tires next year, because I can't go higher than 65 psi in the front tires, and the front tire edges are wearing slightly faster than the centers. At the current wear rate, I'll still be running these same tires in 2020.
