Comcast issues

Post by ldgregory » Fri Sep 19, 2014 9:49 pm

Sorry for the forum problems and slow speeds. Comcast needs to replace an entire span in our neighborhood. They will be doing that first thing in the morning on Saturday. I don't know how long it'll take them, but it should be fixed by Saturday evening and we'll return to our regularly scheduled program.

Re: Comcast issues

Post by ldgregory » Sat Sep 20, 2014 10:36 pm

So they replaced a span around 9am this morning on the telephone lines. Didn't fix the problem. Then a comcast guy was here from 2pm - 7:30pm basically switching out everything from the modem all the way back to the comcast box on the street. There was some small improvement and after three modem swaps and them bringing a known good modem from the head office they decided the problem was off the property somewhere. So, they've called some standby guys who are going to be working on it all tonight. I've even got a nice bright orange coax cable running from the box on my property all the way to the house, up and over the garage and plugged in. They'll come bury that sometime later I guess.

So, the problem is still not resolved completely, but hopefully they'll have it fixed by the morning. Sorry for the headache this is causing you all.

Yep, looks like we're cooking with propane again. After replacing virtually everything on my property and my neighbor's property, they got things going a couple hours ago when they started replacing upstream amps. After replacing amps in three different upstream connection points everything came back to normal. There might be a few more disruptions tonight as they are going to hit all the junctions going upstream between me and the head end to verify all those amps are in good shape.

Finally! Over a week of crap trying to get this fixed.

Again, sorry for the disruption. We should be good to go for a while.
