Power Wagon.JPG
So, I've been stalking the site for sometime now and really got into wanting and needing a power wagon. I really think myself and kids would have an awesome time in it by tromping through the desert out here in Las Vegas. Anyhow, found one on CarMax that i been watching for some time and decieded to pull the trigger and at least have it sent down from salt lake city to vegas. should be here in a couple days for me to test drive and make a final decision. Loan is already approved and i've added the CarMax warranty to the price to keep me out of trouble up tp 150K miles. Anyhow take a look and any feed back with price or words of wisdom to either get it or not get it. Maybe someone had this truck before?

Even if i buy it used i can still get recalls done right?

base price $27,998 final with taxes and warranty around $34,000 im guessing
76K miles

i accidently registered it because i thought that was for posting on the forum....kinda premature.

That seems like a high price to me. I think you can do better if you look around.

Hello Riznitch,

The price is a bit high but it might be worth considering based on the answer to the following questions, also what year is the truck 07, 08, 09?

1) Are all the PW specific features (winch w/accessories, front disconnecting sway-bar, skid plates, original PW forged aluminum wheels) still on the truck?
2) Do all the PW specific features (winch w/accessories, front disconnecting sway-bar, front and rear lockers) still work?
3) Are the PW specific features (winch w/accessories, front disconnecting sway-bar, front and rear lockers) covered under the warranty?
4) Is the under-side of the truck beat up, I don't mean not clean, I mean scraped, scratched, dented or dinged. (some minor trail rash is no big deal, lots of it means the truck has had a hard life.)

If the answer is no to # 1-3 the price is way to high, or if the answer is yes to #4 I would have a mechanic that knows 4x4's check it out before I buy it. Good luck!

It's a 2008. All the mechanical items work but i'll double check with Carmax when i get a visual. It does have the winch and accessories and it should be working. It was one of the things i asked about because i couldnt see it in the picture. Does it work? not sure but I'll find out. Thanks for the tips on the warranty questions, I'll definatly ask.

How much would you pay for the PW?

Honestly, I don't think a whole lot more than $20,000 if it's me.

Welcome to the site. I bought my 2006 pw in may of 2012 for 24,999 plus a warranty contract all from carmax it is a manual and had 34k on it. I know you cant haggle with them but you could ask if they were planing to lower the price if it has been sitting a while. Good luck hope it all goes well.

I will say high as well. But then again, I am surprised at the resale value of Power Wagons.

Going by kelly Blue Book, 31K is fair market value when coming from a dealer. I'll check things out once it gets here. If i'm on the fence still, I'll let my 10 year old son who has autism decide... he has a knack for getting bad vibes off cars. Kind of like the dodge journey my wife wanted to buy.... he wouldn't step foot in it but he hopped right up in the durango and put his seat belt on. funny thing was the saleman stopped pushing for the journey and figured out how to get a the durango.

I test drove the truck and it was pure sweetness! it sits in the driveway now. The thing is immaculate condition. All O.E is covered on the truck including the winch/sway bar and lockers. it was missing the hook to the end of the line and the control box but there in the works come Monday to replace them. If the winch doesn't work then they replace that as well. keep my fingers crossed.

lol, wife almost killed herself getting out. guess it was a little higher than she thought.

I agree with way too high of price... I got my 2010 with 59k at $29,500... it did a few blemishes but its still a PW and looks dang nice cleaned up.
