Did any of you read the pdf's on the installation of those flares. I feel validated. Talk about cutting and work. They state on their site, 8 hr installation front, 8hr rear and that you should most likely have this done by a professional shop.

They're awesome indeed, but I bet they'll look stupid on anything less than 40's with all that cutting.

MikeKey- I agree 100%! No point in going to all that trouble for less than 40s. Also, as much as they cut, coupled with the fact that the axle gets moved 1.5" forward= they'd look goony as heck with a stock suspension and 37s. Even if the axle was moved forward the requisite amount, they'd still look HUGE with only 37s.

Yeah, I read the entire installation before I said anything. You must not be familiar with AEV's TJ high fenders and shaved hood. AEV has always been about cutting metal and permanent hard installs...much less so the bolt on dealership bullshit. The fenders are exactly what AEV is known for, not lame spacer lifts. Go back a page and read my comments again.

I agree, they make some very cool Jeep fenders so, these truck fenders are in keeping with that!!! I like the fact that they are a BIG modification but are made to be better than OEM quality/durability and to look dang near like they could be an OEM part! I've seen them in person and they look GREAT!!!! If I had a 14+ I'd most likely end up getting these flares. (mine is a '12 though) If I had the $$$ to buy a new Prospector XL, I'd love to have one!!!

I see what you did there. :p

I did read your comments, but some of you sound like you're saying you'd buy these with your 35's or 37's. My point is, this isn't a fender for appearance because your tires poke. It's the real deal. We're on the same page. I just don't think this is for anyone who isn't going to go full tilt 40's.

On that note, I'm going to buy the snorkel because I'm a hypocrite.

I know this is an old thread, but I didn’t want to start a new thread. I saw this on the AEV forum and thought it was interesting. Sounds like we'll see the full bumper at SEMA.

They look good for a mall crawler or very light off roading but it looks like you'll be hitting the same rocks and ledges that the stock bumpers hit.

You're right, it looks like light offroading. Sorry but anyway you cut it those bumpers have no better clearance than the steel portions of our factory bumpers. They're pretty and I'm sure they are tough but what's the point if you hit the same rocks you would with a stock bumper?

It's obviously a preference but for my money I want a high clearance bumper like Thuren or Kinzer.

I’m not arguing the clearance/approach angle. Nor am I arguing that the bumpers by AEV are expensive. I just think the 40” tire setup up looks pretty bad ass.

This doesn’t look like a mall crawler to me.
You're right, it looks like light offroading. Image Sorry but anyway you cut it those bumpers have no better clearance than the steel portions of our factory bumpers.

You can do 40s with a Thuren setup and AEV flares.

I dig the AEV bumper for a lot of things, and I like the idea of a full bull bar. There isn’t a single ‘best bumper’. The stamped steel construction, high level of protection and overall fitment of the AEV is awesome if it is what you need.

I really like the function of the bumper I built for my truck. It’s the highest clearance bumper I’ve ever seen for a Ram. I’ve gotten away with stupid lines without touching it. But it isn’t so good for constant driving in deer and moose country.

AEV Sema 2019. Looks like the bumper finally has a skid plate under the bumper?
