Re: AEV Ram!
Here is my home brew aev ram. Love it and looking forward to 40" some day. 37" at 20psi off-road is bliss. Say what you will about the turnkey vehicles but I've put the truck to the test and have had few issues. If aev making turnkey vehicles means more parts for the rest of us than its a good deal if nothing else to push the market segment. Dream was a cummins power wagon, achieved...love the g56 too...have a throttle sensitivity booster, that really helps. I beat on my truck as much or more than you folks, it's an awesome combo. Bought the truck used, sold jeep to buy parts, did everything but lockers and gear install myself to save money. Result: nearly power wagon capable diesel for about as much as a wagon new off the lot.
Looking forward to a rear bumper setup. I've already trashed one rear chinsey stock bumper. (Slammed rock on aev front bumper - just a scratch...rattle can fixed her up.
34.4" off the truck (315 nokian snows), I measured height while on truck to correct speedo but forgot. Hope this helps:

Thanks. Your truck inspired mine. Been following your build for a long time. Went for newer truck just for safety features. If I didn't have kids I would have loved to copy your build.nts007 wrote:I like the black on silver. Blacked out but still professional looking

This makes me happy!!!!!Reloaderguy wrote:http://www.aev-conversions.com/shop/veh ... lares-1016
It does make me debate though.... when the time comes, do I go with these beautiful flares or do I just hack and weld the fenders and cut and rivet the stock liners?
These sure do look nice though!!!! Great setup for the $$$ too! (thought they'd be a LOT more since it's a bit of a niche market)

So..... somebody totally needs to do a flare install and write up, pronto!!!!

Man that is a very sharp rig! So jealous of the g56.
I think the flare bumper combo is a winner. As with most nice stuff, its not cheap. Need a second job if Im going to play with that stuff!

I can understand the bumper being needed for the flares to tie it all in, but the lift? Why? Maybe because the new wheel opening is for the axle being pushed forward? I do think they move the axle forward a bit more with the 40" kit...

Re: AEV Ram!
Correct, tires won't be centered front to back.
Re: AEV Ram!
The flares will work with a stock Power Wagon bumper. The only portion of the flare that attaches to the bumper is a separate piece anyway so, they really will work with any bumper, just will only look fully integrated with the AEV bumper or the stock bumper.
Yes, the flares do require the front axle to be pushed forward 1.5" for a 2014+ rig this can be accomplished via their lift or with some creativity and fabrication, pretty easy to do on these trucks.
^ bummer for older rigs is a LOT of work is needed to push the front axle forward those 1.5" (I just discovered this in my other thread asking about moving it forward, apparently the 4 link design is not as forgiving of axle relocation as the new trucks' radius arm design.
So, unless somebody really wants to do a some fab work, they are a 2014+ product.

Re: AEV Ram!
The real question here is what gearing would be needed for a Power Wagon to run 40" tires? If memory serves me correctly, 2013 and older trucks can't go lower than the stock 4.56 gears. The 2014 and newer at least could look at 4.88's.

Re: AEV Ram!
So, now I'm buggered. Just spent well over $3K on my custom line-x bumper work & other black out work, spent considerable time trimming pinch welds so my new 37's won't rub and plastidip my wheels to match. I was content doing some HID & LED lights in the headlamps & fogs & then add some theuren 3" gas coils, track bar, end links, and theuren supplied boogies & King's when I get to about 50-60k miles and all it good.
But now....faaack...I'm working with the AEV factory in Michigan that did my snorkel to work up a quote for installing their suspension, flares, bumper, which adapter, 40" Toyo's, and Kalata wheels when I go to Michigan this Christmas. Lightly used 37's & stock wheels + Line-x front bumper for sale shortly.
Also, anyone have any sisters or wife's friends they want to set me up with ....

How much are you willing to spend? I'm looking at some 40's and need to raise some cash.adeluca73 wrote: Also, anyone have any sisters or wife's friends they want to set me up with ....
By the way, someone on the PW FB page used stock PW springs with the AEV lift. With that much lift I think you could run 38's without having to cut the body.

Without having facebook, how does a guy look into this? I have been tinkering with that idea for a while now and am wondering how it is working out for him (the aev kit with stock pw springs).
