Do the dirt bikes have the same problems the LC4’s had with the crappy Turkish cam bearings??
Crank bearing.
Replaced the original roller bearings with heavy-duty ball bearings at ~6k miles.
Replaced the clutch-side bearing in '16 since it felt crispier than I was comfortable with.
Now it's the stator-side bearing. Suspect I've just found the MTBF on these bearings in this engine.

Aaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnddddddd..... pinion seal on the rear diff of my truck is leaking.

Not for nothing but isn't that super early for a bearing failure of that kind ? KTM's ain't cheap. My DR650SE had around 20k when I sold it. No problems like that. Some DR650SE's have gone 140,000 miles with no bearing failures. I know they are apples to oranges compared to a KTM but that just seems too early for that type of failure ?

RFS = Racing Four Stroke. Things are wound up a bit tighter in there than a DR650.
High-50s/low-60s hp numbers on my 525, vs. mid-40's for the DR.
525's 272lbs ready-to-ride, vs. 320+ dry weight on the 650.
Gotta pay for that performance somewhere. "Keeps Taking Money"... :cash:
Still better than the MX bikes; those want an oil change every ride, top-ends once a month. Very short maintenance intervals on those.

And since this is a truck picture thread  ... :box:
Image

New seal, no more gear-oil-fountain. Lost about 1/2qt over the past week or so that it's been leaking(spraying).
Image

Torque spec on the pinion nut should just say "More than you have tools to do". Wrenched down on it and got a vibration 25-40m/h, which is typical if you don't preload the pinion gear with the torque on that nut. Wrenched down on it some more and now the vibration's gone. Still whines a bit, but it's been doing that since I got it and there's no skuzz in the fluid, so :thppt: i'm just going to deal with it.

I just picked up a 950 Adventure, the engineering in these things makes my Yamaha MX bike look like a play toy. And that bike gets an oil change every trip.

For as complicated as the KTM’s are, it’s a good complication. The troubleshooting is excellent and with 53,000 miles on it this thing piers like a kitten...

You know the story... :nopics:

You have a bunch of weight in the back of that? Looks like it could use a 1/2” or 1” spacer our back to level it off a little better. And it needs some 37’s now!

stock spare under the bed and a fullsize spare with Method wheel in the bed. aftermarket full size will stay bolted down but the stock spare and resonator/ muffler are all being removed! mufflex magnaflow and resonator chop coming soon! (s&B intake, mufflex muffler are also in bed)

should net me over 100Lbs removed from truck once done. most of that bed mounted!

Rear. A lot of people that opt for the taller Thuren front springs find that the truck ends up a little too level.

1-inch in the rear, don't dare put one up front. That being said, I'm always carrying around 250/300lbs of gear. Ram Box's, 37 inches spare, Rack and RTT.

Rear for sure. Sorry, i missed a word. I actualy ended up a hair low in the rear on full thuren suspension. I have .5 to .75 of rake with the 1 inch spacer. Just enough to not be nose up.

Hot damn! That’s one sexy truck you’ve built. One of the few new trucks that make me think twice about buying a newer truck than my 3rd gen. Did you do the rear diff cover with a stencil or freehand? I love that little touch
