4th Gen Power Wagon Snorkel

Post by 04Ram2500Hemi » Fri Jun 08, 2012 9:57 am

I’m almost afraid to ask this question because I know I most likely don’t need one but I think they are cool. Do you think there’s any chance the 3rd Gen Power Wagon Snorkel would work on the 4th Gen Power Wagon? I’m leaning towards no because of the different fenders and such, but they look so freaking cool on the 3rd Gen that it’s giving me bad intentions.

Wrote an email tp Airflow asking if they have plans for a 4G model. No answer yet. Yeah....I've been drooling over that piece of kit, too! :D

Well, I'd say our best bet now would come from AEV with their new line of products for the RAM. Might be worth a shot to shoot them an email to see if they have any interest?

I had an email from the folks at AEV this morning when I got to work, and I asked them about a few things, and one of them was the snorkel. When I hear more I'll post it here.

Just got an email from Kent with AEV and he didn't have anything on a snorkel at this point. Who knows what the future may hold.

I think all of us 4G guys who want a snorkel should email AEV. The more they get asked hopefully the more they will look into it.

Has anyone contacted Airflow recently? Maybe the same thing should be done with them. That's how the 3rd Gen snorkel came to be.

I sent Airflow an email asking for a 4G Snorkle last week... and so should everyone else! And while at it, bug AEV for one too!

I spoke with the folks at Airflow ... They will not be designing a snorkel for the 4th Gen Rams. Looks like we need to put pressure elsewhere. I also spoke with someone at AEV and he had no idea what I was taking about ... He was just a salesman though.

Kent with AEV has been awesome to work with, but he hasn't been able to give a lot of product details. I think AEV is our best hope, and when SEMA takes off in November we should see the full AEV lineup of goodies. I don't know if a snorkel will be on the AEV Gift Tree, but we'll see.

Getting closer to SEMA! Can't wait but this time last year got a bunch of "hey look at all these cool things that are going to be available for your truck" but not a single product on the shelves yet. Just hope it's not another project truck to tease us with.

You WILL need one some day. It's like a seatbelt. Or insurance. Or an evacuation slide on a jumbo jet,

Emergency snorkel kit...

Battery drill
hole saw
3" piece of silicone hose
2 hose clamps
24" piece of pvc pipe

Core hole through hood directly above throttle body, take off intake hose and move it to the side, next install emergency snorkel kit straight up.

In ten years when the 8th gen dodge p.wagon are out with electric motors in all four wheels! Then they will make a snorkel for 4th gen.

4th Gen Power Wagon Snorkel

I just called, and in true AEV fashion, they have no ETA. He did however confirm that it is a go and they're moving forward with production.

Maybe we will get lucky and they will sneak a 2012 Suspension in for us too. That flat bed drawing sure looks like Power Wagon decals on the hood too. I'm almost afraid of how much this could cost me!

I doubt we'll be seeing anything those of us with "pre coil spring rears and radius arms" suspensions.....

I wish I didn't have to pay for gas, I would absolutely rock the crap out of this truck..... :cash:

In the long run I think some Thuren Control Arms and 35" tires will do me just lovely. However, that Snorkel just gives me bad intentions, and I'm not sure why I even want one other than the fact that it's cool!

I also like their front bumper. Even though our bumpers sit back nicely, I wouldn't mind having recovery points like that bumper offers too. I think the snorkel along with extending our breathers into the airbox, would be a nice setup.
I guess we'll see real pics next week.
