Post by TwinStick » Tue Oct 14, 2014 2:30 am

Has anyone in the aftermarket stepped up yet, to offer a more HD clutch than the factory one for the G56 w/Hemi ? Just curious. If not, maybe a kind word in the right ear would get something going from the aftermarket ??? We be needin somethin better Captain ! Just sayin'.

Thanks George.

I haven't heard of anything in the works. If there was anyone to bother it would be South Bend Clutch. The main issues will be the fact that are very small amount of G56 equipped Hemi's exist in this world.

The only one that I'm aware of is a Centerforce Dual Friction ® - Clutch Cover & Disc (PN# DF440178)

I loved mine in my XJ but have heard folks that did not like the light switch on off action of the dual friction material. My brother hated it when driving in the rain in Miami Florida with his 2006 Z06. I adjusted very quickly and really liked it but the XJ is a fairly light Jeep when compared to our trucks. For me it was good clutch and was going strong after about 90,000 on the clutch when I sold the Jeep to a friend @ 165,000 miles. The clutch is still going strong today but I do not know how many miles are on the 1991 Jeep today.
