05 PW upgrades!!
Re: 05 PW upgrades!!
Nothing fancy. No suspension lift.
My home made 2/0 welding cable dual battery set up.
Inside bed tool box: V V V Plug it in when needed, unplugged when not needed. It can jump start itself when plugged in. Makes a HUGE difference when winching heavy.
I just throw the charger/maintainer/desulfator on it every few months.
I bring this when i need it, it also fits in tool box on the tray rail: V V V
Cooling fans w/screens
My home made 3 bike carrier. Speed rated @ 80mph-0mph in panic stop. Still have use of bed.
There you go.

Re: 05 PW upgrades!!
Hey where did you get your power steering pump and how much did it cost? Thanks
Re: 05 PW upgrades!!
If you need more pictures or exact measurements, just let me know. It was tough to pull off this set up and to make sure there was no rubbing at full flex from both sides, and total up down travel. Had to go with a smaller oil filter, and had to cut the oil filter drip "tongue" to make this whole set up work. But it works perfectly with ZERO slop on the push/pull from the ram.

Well out on a complete new upgraded steering pump set up. That wasn't cheap but power steering is working great now and everything is tight.

Re: 05 PW upgrades!!
I then took it to have the AC fixed because the electric fan and condenser was bad and had to be replaced. Picked it up and drove home with nice cool AC. Got to the house and made a u turn and the horn started blowing and wouldn't stop!!!! So popped the hood and pulled the fuse. Damn you fix something and something else breaks on this truck. Weird shit. Inspection is due next month so I will have to fix it soon. Anyone else have this problem yet or is it just my bad luck?

Re: 05 PW upgrades!!
Think maybe your clock spring in the steering column went bad. When mine went out. My air bag light came on.

Re: 05 PW upgrades!!
Well I ordered the clock spring. $176 dollars damn. Heading to LA today for work for 2 weeks. When I come back I will fix that and hopefully put my new diff covers from DOR on. Also new Amsoil gear oil and clean everything inside and do a good inspection with all the miles on the truck.

Re: 05 PW upgrades!!
Ok here is what happened. 4 1/2 hours from work and 4 1/2 hours from home on my way to work I stopped to get something to eat and stretch my legs. Come back out and damn truck wouldn't turn over. Dash lights come on but wouldn't turn over. Checked all electrical connections, fuses, relays, batteries, etc. but nothing. I'm pretty pissed off at this point. Turn the ignition and crawl under and jump the starter. Turns over but doesn't start. Check fuel rail for pressure and it's good. So now I know it's Dian electrical problem. Pull the top off a little relay and start swapping it around to see if it makes contact. Can't figure shit out and I'm really pissed off NOW!! Call tow truck and get it towed to the dealer in Orange, Texas. Told them I'm out of town and if they could please get it in the shop to at least let me know a time frame so I can make plans to get picked up, hotel, rent a car etc. i was not feeling good by the look of the shop. They were awesome and got It in immediately. About 40 minutes and I heard it start up because it's load with the flow master exhaust. I go out and talk to the mechanic. He says that the all he did was spray the relay box connections and swap the big relays around which is what I did about 10 times or more. Says that the whole relay fuse box needs to be replaced but they don't have one in stock and it would be a week. So I am happy it's running and pay them $125 service fee and $75 towing fee and I'm back on the road. Didnt shut the truck off until I got to work. Shut off and started up 3 times in parking lot. Hopefully It will start up in 12 days when I leave. Damn something else to fix when I get home.

Re: 05 PW upgrades!!
That's the problem with being stuck at work for 14 days surfing the web makes you spend money. Wife hates the PW says its a money pit (she may be right about that). So much more I want to buy for it still. Wish list parts:
Steering kit from DOR
Steering brace from DOR
Suspension through DOR
Hutchinson bead locks
New Pitbull Radial tires
Front bumper
Rear bumper
Rock sliders
Transmission shift kit
Headers
Camshaft
Nitrous
Plus much more!!
There is no end to the madness.

Re: 05 PW upgrades!!
Ok got this hunk of junk running again after having it at the shop for 4 weeks. Picked it up when I got back from offshore and the same day figured out multiple problems. First it would not start and found a hidden after market alarm that was causing it to not turn over or anything. Fixed that and it would turn over but wouldn't start. Finally got it to start holding the gas down. It would not run under 1200 RPM's it would just die. Did compression and #8 cylinder was Zero. Pulled valve cover and found broken intake valve spring. Went to the dealer and bought new valve springs, keepers, all new plugs, wires and two coils that had some corrosion on them. Went and bought spring compressor to change on head. Was a pain in the ass to get it to seal. Had a compression gauge on one side and a compression gauge with shrader valve taken out and air hose on the other spark plug hole. Could only get 30 lbs on it at first was leaking back through the intake. After getting a pry bar under the broken valve spring holding it up and putting air into it until I had over 100 lbs to hold valve up while I pulled old spring off and replaced it. Had hell getting the new keepers to fit and line up right. But luckily I didn't have to pull the head!

Re: 05 PW upgrades!!
Well got the head back together then new wires, plugs, and a new 87 Moe's performance throttle body. Started up and seemed to run good. Drove it around town for 30 minutes or so. Looked good.

Also replaced my clock spring behind the steering wheel. This thing is breaking my bank account and my patience.
