SilverWagon05 wrote:Are they steel or billet? I'm still trying to decide whether to go with the DT units or Pure Performance. Thanks.

The extensions are made of alluminum and appears to be very strong. It is a big improvment over the stock links.

Bad thing is that I have to drill out the whole for the bottom portion of the link where it connects to the axle.

I looked at the Pure Performance, but it seems like I remeber one of the guys on here had to return his because they would not work for some reason. Do not remember why or what thread it was under.

Good luck and IMO I think anyone going with these links will be very happy with their upgrade.

Well they're installed and it was easier than anticipated. I had to drill out the mount on the axle to 9/16" (Bottom link).

Can someone give me an idea where the stock end links locate the sway bar? I need to know if I need/should adjust the new links at all?

Thanks, It is eating me alive that I have to wait till next weekend to start back up on her :excited:

OH Yea, look past the welds, I kinda got in a rush towards the end of the day, and the wind started blowing and yes with moister, which is always bad for welding. I will grind all that off next weekend and by the time I am done you will not even know it was welded

I am trying to find a rock crusher for the rear end if anyone knows where I can find one :poke: ?

Thanks, it is about as low profile as I can make it and still be functional.

Looking at my welds, it is apparent that I have not welded anything in over 17 years  they are not pleasant to look at, at all.

That looks nice except for the trailer hitch. If I was going to do something like that I would have made the hitch as flush with the bumper as possible even if I had to put the pin in behind the bumper. Just a thought....

Nice!

The welds look fine - nothing a flapper wheel won't dress up. If there are still pin holes, a quick coat of light body cream will cover that up easily.

I've done a couple bumpers like that. To make the pin accessible on the hitch, that's the best way to go. I did one recessed, and it was a bitch to get it in and out from the bottom, plus a lot more work to make it where it could be even accessed from the bottom.
I'm just along for the ride...

I am with you, I think the welds are good, just not appealing to the eye right now. Once she is done and a thick coat of Hurculiner is added you will not be able to tell

Thanks to all for the comments.

Did you leave them screwed in all the way or did you adjust them out a bit?

I kept them screwed in all the way. Trying to figure out what the length of the O.E. link were. You do not by chance have the O.E. links handy where you can measure them do you? I had to cut mine off, so do not know.

If you have the O.E. and can send me the length, I plan on adjusting mine two inches longer to make up for the lift.

Thanks

If you have the O.E. and can send me the length, I plan on adjusting mine two inches longer to make up for the lift.

Thanks

I'll try and get out there tomorrow and measure. It's cold and snowy up here and I have a broken leg  so if anyone else can go out and measure theirs it would be much appreciated.
