Any tire-body contact when you fully flex the entire truck? It looks real close the way it sits, so I'm currious what the tires do when they're stuffed into the wheel wells? I'm thinking the next set of tires will be 37's for my 2009...

Nothing so far. Flexed the rear doesn't rub but drop a yard of gravel in and they will rub on bumps. That's what happened in my 06. The curbs and snow banks haven't caused any issues yet and nothing while driving. It's usually just plastic that gets in the way

So got a couple thousand km on the setup now. Everything's awesome. Rpms are higher but mileage is still awesome. Sitting between 19-21mpg. With 37's. No complaints. Now need to hook up lockers and sway bar disconnect. Then winch mount planning. Had some nasty weather blow in. Really icy and heavy snow. Very glad i got these tires studded. Made a huge difference.

I feel a little bad for posting this. The advantage of the diesel. But the difference in front end weight is noticeable.

This is today's 445km average

This is what happened to the front end of my Dodge diesel with the added weight on the front end. Granted I bounced all over a creek crossing among other things. Still it takes some weight to break a 1-ton knuckle. Hence why I now own a Power Wagon with 5.7 Hemi!

Damn that looks painful. I know i won't be pushing this truck like i used to push my pw. But like you said it takes a lot to break em

i actually figured it out. the engine weight difference between the 6.7 cummins and 5.7 is 796lbs. the tranny difference i dont know. both the PW's and diesels use the same NV271 transfer case so no change there. its also the reason steve at AA said to not spend the money on their atlas. he said the NV271's are stout good units. depending on what happens with the 5:13 gears i may lower the transfer case. but i will wait to see what happens first. when i do eventually break it i will likely replace it with an atlas 4-speed. ive had two of those in crawlers AND LOVED THEM.

It wouldn't surprise me if the Cummins was 1000lbs. overall. If thee engine is near 800lbs heavier you can then add the extra battery (+/- 50lbs) plus I'm sure other "extra's"!

Speaking of dual batteries. I wanted to put a second battery in to have a dual set-up. However, I figured out how to fit an Odyssey 2150 in the stock location and it is like having two factory batteries. Also, the only place to put a second battery is in the space on the passenger side of the engine compartment. That space is where the intake and air filter goes with the RIPP Supercharger. As I have to put an inline canister filter connected to the snorkel that area will be all used up!

Also, being an expedition truck, it will have two National Luna Power Packs mounted in the cab each with matching Odyssey 2150's. So, I will have plenty of back-up capacity!

Just installed a set of bilstein 7100s from carli. Upgraded from 5100s. Just did fronts for now. I was expecting an improvement. Not a total mind f@#k!!! They are a thousand times better. My truck has been really harsh in washboard and small bumps. Now the front is unbelievable. And now its apparent how bad the rear is by comparison. So now gotta order up the rears. But seriously. WOW!! What a difference. Couple pics

Waiting on a set of rear shocks. Im tryin to figure out how to connect the cable for the disco sway bar. It's a simple pull release but it needs to lock pulled and be free on release. Also have some arb locker switches they look cool and say front or rear locker. Other then that its just been daily driving. 1000-1500km a week. Swapped down to the 35" tires for some long highway trips. Mileage improved but rpms hovered just a hair under 2000. But it wasnt hurting anything. But it's not the same as the 37's. they will be back on soon. So its rear shocks and then long travel air bags and track bar. Then hoping i can find some pw fellows nearby to head out wheeling with. There more to come after. Winch is on the list but i really don't like the chin bumpers everybody gets. So im likely going to fab up one myself. On the plus side if work picks up i may be able to pick up a new diesel and then i can really make this one a trail rig. Until then i need the box for work. It's been a busy spring too with seeding and spraying. So my evenings have been as busy as my days. Worst of all i haven't been home much. But that will change soon too.

But I will post as soon as the parts come in. Another week or two i hope. Side effect of living in Canada and special ordering carli parts i guess

So the truck rendered itself undriveable for a bit. Our roads on this side of the border arnt as forgiving as others. When crossing a set of railroad tracks that have managed to create a nasty hole at highway speeds (it was on the highway; yes the tracks cross the highway) the front axle decided it was time to go its own direction. Blew out the lower track bar bushing. There is now 1/2" side to side play on that point. I was fighting death wobble for the last 2 hrs on an 8 hr trip. Needless to say ive been waiting for a new track bar and its taking way to long to get here. It was ordered 2 Mondays ago and rear shocks were ordered a month ago. Still not here. I have a backup truck but its not as cool as this one. Will post pics when new parts get here. I'm hoping this is the last of the issues. Then I can get some wheeling done too.

So here is an update not being able to go over 90 on the highway sucks. But I had to use the truck. So today i picked up a 09 PW trackbar and some lumber for a sheep shelter. It only DW twice on me but I was going slow enough it wasnt to scary. So its not a carli but i got it next day and it will work long enough untill i can afford to do a carli. On a side note dealing with hertz rentals is fantastic for fleet trucks. I only thought they would do equipment but if you fond the right one they have some decent trucks. Got a 1ton for $92 a day and they didnt ding me on km. although i had it for almost a month they allowed me to return it and pick it up without hassle when I didnt need it. So big thanks to them.
Now all i need is my rear shocks. Then ill be happy for the time being

Has anyone tried to modify the factory track bar? I was thinking maybe drilling and threading in a heim on one end and maybe machining a steel bushing for the other. Im really wondering if that would be doable.
