I don't know the whole story. Sounds like quite a party night situation. And getting home by cab is impossible out here. Nobody was hurt from what I understand. Which is good.

Swapped some parts across today. Got the fender flares put on. They are temp untill i can afford some bushwackers down the road. Color match bedliner for the rockers too. Here is as she stands today. Almost done everything i can do myself with out jacks or lifts. Hoping some snow would melt so i can start taking out the axles :digahole:

It was nice a frozen this morning after a couple beautiful days. Hard to work on your back when surrounded by water. Got the box off this morning and started to figure out the rear end. Also removing the box yourself is never a great idea especially if you plan to save the box. If you do then having a large snow bank to drop it into is the way to go

Rear axle out. Snow makes everything a pain. Jack kept sinking. Pain to remove the emerg brake cables. There has to be an easier way then jamming a screwdriver into the spring and forcing it out.

Got some goodies from the city. Planning on getting the front axle pulled tomorrow if it works. I need to get the swap done cause the balljoints on my front end are shot.

Yep. The balljoints were so bad im amazed they didnt just let go. Gonna get the axle swapped and after i can use the truck again will swap half shafts and install new balljoints. I have to have the stick driving by Sunday. May manage both axles

LOVE that you are roughing it out and doing this build out in the open, on snow covered ground!!! Reminds me of when I had my 1995 Lada Niva and lived in an apartment in Edmonton. I used to change transmissions and other work out in the parking lot.
Loving my 3/4 ton version of my old Jeep TJ!!!!!

Wheels down teaser. This view you would swear its not a ctd. Unless u look into the grill. Now need a winch. It's frickin cold today. May start the rear. I have an alignment booked for Monday. Was hoping to have rear in

Haha. Yea it is. Its -10 with wind at -25. Took it for a spin. Need to change the balljoints. Was hoping these would last me a bit. So instead of rear axle tomorrow im gonna tackle balljoints. Then do a final shakedown and tighten things up. Seems ok. Everything's is pretty straight. Gonna check it on the highway tomorrow after joints and if its ok im gonna skip the alignment till rear axle is in

Quick update. I tacked the balljoints today. After a shit show getting them out, my princess auto balljoints press didnt have cups that would work to install the new ones. Fast forward couple hours a good friend of mine picked up a kit and brought it out. Main issue living in freedom is that the closest place that has anything is an hour away. And when u got your front end apart is a bad time to figure out you need stuff
