I picked the amsoil and don valved to suit. What I have seen With my 7100s is when I did rebuilds the amsoil oil was always clean and clear after 20-30k km. Th bilstien oil was dark and dirty. And this time when I pulled the king oil it too was dark and dirty looking. I tend to believe amsoils claims they state about their oils as it would be hard to disprove and the evidence they do have suggests they are straight up with their products. Through the winters using amsoil you can tell it's fluid vs the stock bilstien. And the king. When the temps dropped below freezing the king oil felt hard as rock. Took about 10 min banging down the road for it to smooth out. You can tell the difference easily once the oil is flowing. The amsoil is smooth right from cold. That's evidence enough for me. Going from stock king oil to the amsoil was a drastic change. And don tightened up the valving a fair bit too

So we've gotten some snow and freezing conditions (big surprise) and I can tell you this about the Nitto trail grapplers

They SUCK!!! Spin out on fresh snow. No traction on ice. Slide everywhere under braking. HOW THE HELL DO PEOPLE RUN THESE YEAR ROUND!!!!
It's stupid dangerous!

I have a new set going on in the next few days. I will never buy another set of the Nitto trails again. Wear way to fast. Crappy traction. And they are tearing apart.

Here's a comparison pic. The Nitto trails have about 25k km on them.
IMG_0963.JPG
The cooper st maxx have 60k km on them.
IMG_6279.JPG
Same drive same roads same speeds. I won't be buying toyo products ever again

Problem solved. Finish wrecking the nittos next spring. Been snowing for days here now and hovering at the freezing line. Lots of ice. Much safer now.

Small update. Decided to change the grill up a bit. Paint hasn't been holding up and getting chipped and whatnot. So I pulled it and swapped in another. Put on different grill. Need to strip the paint off the bug deflector. The nose looks naked without it.
Also been hauling water. 2900lbs really squats the truck without the air bags filled lol. Me being lazy left the tires at about 35psi too lol. 4 trips and our well should hold over awhile now

Been running dry. First time in 40 years. And it's not recovering. It's a 60' deep 3' dia casing. Usually there is between 45-50' of water at all times. So usually we have about 2600gallons of water reserve. This has been a rough year. Ran dry 4 times now. So I've hauled almost 1600 gallons in the last few days. I wish I had a bigger tank but I have to make do

Damn that sucks. Water is pretty important!

My calculations only come up with about 265 gallons of reserve.

Hmm might want to redo that math lol. 50' of water in a 3' diameter casing. Not 3 inch. 3 feet. 36" lol. Yes it sucks

Worked a little on the kings today. Just the rear. Pulled them and changed the compression valving a bit. Trying to make it softer over the frost heaves. Still not quite good but defiantly an improvement. When I get bored I'll pull them again and make minor changes. These body down resi setups are just taking a beating. Body's are gouged and beaten from rocks. Hate to say this but I think the 7100s are slightly better quality in some ways. Oh well it is what it is. Going to have to keep on protecting them.

Did you not get the stainless shafts? With some minor trimming of the cross bed supports you can flip the shocks body up.

I'd have to look back on the order. I don't remember. If it becomes an issue I have a et of 7100s to fall back on lol. Sad😔

Bilstein uses a special alloy in their shafts and are among the hardest in the industry however, their shocks have other weaknesses though.

King offers standard and stainless steel shafts did you get the stainless shafts? For those in snowy climates they are pretty much mandatory. I know all Carli's Kings come with them not sure about Thuren.

I have one these reservoir guards on my front facing rear shock and it helps a lot in minimizing rock rash.

I fixed my drivers side rear door wiring twice and the passenger's side once the original drivers side hardness final gave up the ghost and had to be replaced a couple of weeks ago.

The problem is Dodge used various gauges (14-20) of wiring in that harness and the thinner 14 gauge wires break from opening and closing the door.

I ended up making the wires all 5" longer and put them in a loop. Minimal hinging on wires now more of a twist. Seems to be working

I usually don't for pictures here. And my tuck is distinctive enough a plate wouldn't matter. But I blasted the same pictures on instagram and Facebook so I figured whatever.

Also been having to haul water a lot lately. Had to drain bottom of tank so it doesn't freeze hard. So find a small hill and go lol

WOW, bright! Do they come on when the truck goes in reverse, or wired separately on a switch, or both?

Wired them into the reverse circuit. Seems like work to have to remember to flip a switch lol

Ha. Well I suppose it could be handy once in a while to have the lights on WITHOUT the truck in reverse.
