16PW's Build-2016 Power Wagon

Post by 16PW » Fri Nov 02, 2018 10:24 am

2016 Power Wagon Tradesman

I picked up this truck a little over a month ago and absolutely love it. I fall in love more and more when I get to do some wheeling. This is going to be a slow build in progress because this stuff is expensive!

A few things that I purchased right away:

Interior:
Husky Liner Floor Mats

Recovery/Off-Road Gear:
3/4" Shackles
Shackle Hitch Receiver
Boulder Tools Tire Deflator (Works Amazingly!)
3"x8' Tree Saver
3"x30' Snatch Strap

I couldn't get the tiny stock size tires off quick enough. Just put on 37x12.50r17 Cooper STT Pro. I also removed all of the badges and took off the fender flares while I was at it. The flares were really faded and looked terrible. I didn't feel like having to dress them up once a week just for them to look good. I might end up spraying the flares and bumpers with Raptor bed liner or just keep the flares off as I like the clean look.

Good looking tires! My $0.02; may want to re think the flairs if your back roads are gravel, look like rock throwers although the tire profile doesn’t seem excessive. Both rhino & linex have custom color matches that look good &mayhelp keep your clean look

Thanks! I might end up spraying them with black Raptor liner. I like the way that stuff looks as it comes out of a spray gun and not just a spray can so you can adjust how much texture gets put down. I had MT's on my 1500 for several years with no flares and the lower panel of the truck was completely spotted, so I probably will throw them back on.

Since I took my OEM flares off I have to say I am a fan. Not only do the factory flares ruin your pain but they interrupt the body lines. With that said, the rocks are going to wreck your pain. Maybe body color bed liner is the way to go? I have tons of rock chips an am considering that route myself.

I agree. I like the look a lot better without the flares. That's why I never put them on my 1500 and just dealt with the rock chips.I bought a white power wagon for off road purposes so I don't have to worry too much about scratches or rock chips. I plan on using these truck for what it was built for, if not I would have loved to get one in dark red. Are you thinking of doing the flares with body colored bed liner or the lower panel of the truck?

Lower panels and up the doors. My OE flares don't fit on my truck anymore.
