I joined the Power Wagon forum recently. We purchased a stock 2006 Power Wagon to take wheeling and get the entire family out in the wood hunting.

The list of mods so far is short but I will update when we get more done.

So far I have installed Super Duty Bushwacker cut out flares. I have a set of 37X13 Boggers to run on the trail but I am looking at going with a set of 39's for now.

During the install of the flares. I gained about 4 inches of room with the flares.

I read a write up where someone installed these flares and reshaped them to keep the flares off of the doors. I didn't want to do that so I just trimmed the flare so the door clears it when its opened fully. I really like how they turned out.

I like how the drivers side rear flare turned out with the fuel door opening.

After the boggers went on and headed out for a short trip with the wheeler and dirtbike.

I have a set of my buddies 42X15.5 Pitbull's in the garage so I mounted them up just too see how it would look with a massive tire on it. This picture is with the bed side cut for the flare just not installed yet.

With the 42's the truck is not driveable let alone able to be taken offroad. I need to build my long arm setup and move the front axle forward to make clearance for the big tires. For now I'll stick with the 37's until I come across a good deal on a set of used 39's for it.

Future mods include: Snorkel, Front Longarms, small 2-3 inch lift, led lights for the dark Alaska days, on board air, sliders, front and rear bumpers. More ideas will get added to the list as I research what other guys have done and where the weak points on the truck are.

I am running 37X12.50's on the street and will be running 37X13 Boggers this summer unless I come across a deal on a set of 39's. Once I go with a 42-43" tires I will still daily drive the truck on 37-38's.

I was just test fitting these to take notes on where they hit so I could build the truck this winter to fit that size tire.

Serious fender flares. Good list, that should occupy you during the winters.

So its time for an update. In November my buddy was driving our truck and both front u-joints went out and took out both inner and outer axle shafts. So we parked the truck in the garage at that time while we figured out if we where going to simply repair the axle shafts or if we where going to upgrade the truck.

Fast forward ahead a couple months and we had a plan. I ordered a set of Yukon Chromoly axle shafts for the front axle, 5.38 ring and pinion. I picked up a 4th gen steering box, pieced together a hydraulic assist setup. Now for the rear, we sold the 10.5 axle and picked up a 11.5 out of a 06 3500 Cummins and then ordered a 5.38 ring and pinion and ARB locker for the 11.5 aam.

I did the ring and pinion install in the front axle and paid a buddy of mine to install the ARB and ring and pinion in the new rear axle. I also had a new steel driveshaft made for the truck and used Spicer triple seal u-joints.

I don't have any good pictures of the truck out of the garage yet. I am waiting on the DVB beadlocks to get here, they are another two weeks away from being delivered.

We also traded our four 40 inch LTB's for a five almost new 40X13.5 Pro Comp MT2's. We plan on driving the truck long distances this next summer and in 2019 we are planning on driving from Alaska to New Mexico for a family trip and want to take the truck so we can wheel different trails while we are on the road.

I have done a bunch of little things also to the truck, led cab lights, new drivers seat foam and cover, mount the dual ARB compressor, mounted a 11 gallon air tank under the bed, installed a CB radio, hard wired the front locker to a ARB locker switch, repaired the wiring harness that goes to each rear door so now the power locks and speakers will work... I am sure I am forgetting something.

So now the decision is if we pick up a pop up cab over camper or if we buy a smaller toy hauler for our trip next summer. The market is small here in Alaska for used campers so we will see what comes up for sale.

I'll post more pictures when the wheels get here and the truck is out of the garage.

Hot damn! 5.38’s almost went in my truck but I went with 5.13’s instead. I’ve regretted that decision since. Truck is coming along nicely man, you’re building s real beast! Can’t wait to see it on the new wheels and tires

What year Ferd were the flares for? I'm lost as to why Bushwacker never made a cutout-flare for theses trucks.

It was a good stance but no way they would fit the truck without some more serious mods. I am very happy with the 40's.

I think it has to do with the amount of fender between the wheel well opening and the door stock.
