Thanks guys! Camper should be done tomorrow if everything goes as planned. Done enough, at least.

A few weekends ago I took a friend and his father out to the Mojave Trail in Southern California. We had a blast. Met a nice Austrian fellow who is taking a 6 week trip to the national parks in the western US and happened to share my first name. The water crossing at the end was a little deep this year Image hearing water all along the "hull" of the truck that sounded exactly like water under a boat is an interesting feeling

ImageImage
This guy didn't make it Image

I'll post some more pictures when I get a chance. I love the Mojave, it's a very social place and a treat to get to enjoy it.

Sent from my safe space

When your trusted dirtbiking friend says "take the second water crossing with speed", and you think he means "pin it!", but he really means "take it at like 30"

We had lots of fun at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Right before our friends joined us it snowed a few inches, and since we showed up on opening day some of the roads were pretty adventurous

Since We've had a few days to stay in one spot with our friends in Fort Collins I figured I'd share some of our Colorado fun. We made it up Cinnamon Pass and the majority of the Alpine Loop, but Engineer was closed due to landslides over the road and snow on the pass. On the drive up to Fort Collins through the Roosevelt National Forrest my girlfriend yelled "Moose!". Half of me didn't believe her and half of me really wanted to see a moose so we skidded into a pullout and we all walked back a hundred yards - low and behold, a moose! Which then saw us and started to run towards us Image until it veered off and walked through the river. Colorado rocks. ImageImageImageImageImageImage

With the high cost of aftermarket cooling, I'm really considering ulterior options Image
I think if I can grab some barbed fittings and brake lines a few of these and some computer fans ought to keep my oil temps in check!

It's about 4-6 hours of fun! :excited:
A slightly bent housing can also cause a leaking seal. When you get it apart look straight through the axle tubes, if it's bent you'll know.
At least you've had the hubs and knuckles apart recently, so it should be easy.

I invested stock in the anti-seize used to assemble the knuckles, so yeah I got that going for me. I ought to put a truss on this thing anyhow. I think when we did ball joints it's possible we nicked the deal with the shaft and it's just taken a few months to work its way out. As long as the deal doesn't go postal I'm thinking I can get quite a bit of time out of this to prep.

Boy I haven't updated this in a while! This is pretty late here but I started a company, Dethloff Manufacturing (dethloffmfg.com), focusing currently on functional improvements for the Ram platform. So far its been going well, and I've got a few new things rolling out hopefully next month. I owe a big thanks to MikeKey for being the impetus for me getting in gear and diving into the business and for being my first customer, and building me a pro website. Thanks!

Blah blah, nobody wants a diary so onto truck stuff! I decided the factory muffler with the resonator hacked off by angle grinder wasn't quite what I wanted so I tossed it and installed a Jones Turbine 3030XL. It slipped straight onto the factory Y-pipe and I put a turn-down on it. That caused bad drone so I had a local exhaust shop bend a tip to come out by the front spring hanger. This is the most tucked I could keep it (away from rocks) and I'm really happy with the clearance so far. The system still drones some so I just had the guy bend a J-tube I'll weld on and see if that makes it healthy. I'll add some pics soon.
