Modern PW brush fire truck?

Post by 2202bblx2 » Fri Oct 14, 2016 6:23 pm

Has anybody put a service bed on a newer power wagon?

The Ram Box is cute and all... I'm looking for a bit more utilitarian. Camping/ Hunting/ Off road recovery and race car tow vehicle.

I have contemplated it on my CTD but the regular bed is not damaged yet and is larger inside than a service bed.

Depends what you want to do with it. I'd like to find one 4' wide on the inside and cabinets 1' deep on each side should be enough.

It would be enough for any parts id have in there, ply wood (Could be stood up I guess) and firewood. Then you have storage for a chain saw, fuel and other fun stuff.

If your beds not damaged, sell it!

From what I was told, my truck was a cancelled order from a government agency. It was probably destined to be converted into a brush truck, probably done by Sterling. It's even more fun when emissions are due, the vin comes up as a class 3 truck. A lot more wiggle room with that.

That makes sense. Maybe someone didn't do their homework before ordering. Found out that the weight capacity of a PW is way less than a reg 2500 & they could not legally install all that stuff because it would go over the GCWR.

Yeah, now that I have WK sliders installed on my truck the payload number has been lowered into triple digits. I think if I fill the seats up with people (even with an empty box) I would technically be overloaded

That firetruck wagon looks pretty sweet!
