I've only driven the truck a few miles but a few things stand out. The RTs have always had a left hand pull but it's completely gone and the truck tracks perfectly straight. Grooves in the road no longer pull the truck either. Feedback through the wheel is greatly minimized.

I'll know tomorrow, I kept it 50mph and under today. 50mph in 6th gear runs about 1500 RPM.

A few observations. The transmission feels like it is holding less torque. I don't know if I'm just hyper sensitive but I haven't had any clunky shifting today. I did calibrate the computer to 4.88 with a ProCal, no idea if that does anything at all though. Also, the truck holds 6th going up hill where it used to down shift into 5th or 4th.

As far as installation goes, I was going to do the install but I found a local installer that knew what he was doing. I used AAM 11.5 OE Chrysler 5.13, these are gears out of an older Cab and Chassis 3500 and are different that OE AAM 11.5 Chrysler 4.10 or 4.30. This R&P requires pinion conversion bearings and the crush sleeve to be machined slightly shorter. There might be an off the shelf sleeve available but the supplier was unaware of it. The front gears are Yukon 9.25 GM 5.13 with a Yukon Chrysler application conversion spacer and ring gear bolts. There was some concern about the length of the ring gear bolts included with the spacer being too short. However, the Yukon bolts are actually longer than the OE ring gear bolts. The gears set up fine, the only hang up was sourcing the correct pinion bearings and then machining the spacer.

Just curious, what are your RPMs with the 5.13s in 6th gear at 65mph and 75mph?

Nice work on your truck, that things is a real beast.

Steve
2000 RPMs at 70mph.

 Just wish they made a set of 5.13's for the 10.5.

Ive always wanted a front cam. If that system allowed us to get the Rubicon/Trailhawk screens I think I'd get it.

Nice work.

Computer work today:

Disable ECO mode
Set axle ratio to 5.13
Convert TPMS to TPIS
Reset speed limiter to 255mph (off)

How many rpms does the motor have to do to hit 255 mph with the 5.13's? :jawdrop:

The most important change is the TPIS. That is the system in 3500 and 4500 trucks. It only tells you your current pressure, no more monitoring system.

Roughly 7368.2 RPM @ 255 mph with 37's and 5.13 gears in 6th gear :excited:

I few engine mods may be required

What gizmo did you purchase to do this?

Not that I need a front camera but my wife is the worst driver ever. This also bypasses the speed lockout and gives me the SRT wallpaper. I can add a third camera or a media device with composites.
Did you buy the Customtronix UK Ram medallion camera and their Egnima Premium JailBreak EVIC programmer?

I bought the Customtronix Jailbreak Enigma Premium and and Ram emblem camera. Customtronix no longer uses software to reprogram the 8.4 but rather a harness with built in software. It is plug and play and you don't notice the camera despite it being right in front of the truck. The Euro exchange rate is decent right now so Customtronix ended up being less expensive than the US alternative model I looked at. Shipping from Sweden was like three days.

I rented a Autel Maxsys (again) and an Auto Enginuity. The Maxsys is to reset the RFH and the AE programs the Body Control Module. I originally planned on setting the TPMS to 5 or 10 PSI using the AE but I discovered there is a lower threshold limit of 28 PSI built into the system and if you program the threshold lower it throws a fault code for a placard error. When I ran into the TPSM low threshold error, Tracy (4x4x4Door) told me about an option for non-regulated tire pressure (TPIS) he found buried in the AE that he had never tried. This is uncharted territory because the AE can make irreversible changes to the BCM that do not function in all models (like activating electric sliding doors that deactivate door locks or countless resistance tables). Fortunately it worked and my BCM isn't bricked, now I just have tire pressure information, no monitoring. That means no minimum tire pressure at all, I can watch the pressure in real time but there are no warnings anymore (like a 3500 and 4500).

Also, keep in mind, when the dealer updates your BCM they wipe out all of your settings. If they don't reset the RFH (they don't normally) the parameters with show as changed but they old settings will still be present. For example, I had set my TPMS thresholds to 30 PSI. When the local dealer I had problems with screwed up my DRL's they reset my BCM. They wiped out my tire calibration, speed limiter, TPSM thresholds, etc. The TPMS still functioned as I programmed it despite holding the OE 65 PSI factory setting.

Also, just so you're aware of it. All of those locker bypass kits MYoung and Shelby made, they throw soft codes in the computer. They show up as voltage errors in the BCM. The system still works and you don't see the service 4 wheel drive light but the system is throwing a code. The dealer in Washington found it and I found with the AE too. LED lights throw codes too.

Figured that’s what you did-I’ve been looking at this fir a few months, June actually, just don’t feel like pulling apart the dash and the radio, but I’m leaning. Was it as easy as their video makes it look?

When the dealer did those three recalls, they reflashed ny BCM, but it didn’t seem to reset my PROCAL TPMS settings. I didnt recheck the tire size or gears, but the fog/hi beam setting still works too.

I changed to LEDs and I get a EVIC bulb out message , but whatever. When i did the thuren install, I didn’t reconnect the big CAD plug and got all kinds of nasty warning lights and error messages. Lockers still work. Sway bar doesn’t.

Makes sense the locker by-pass throws a warning, it’s not a “pure” seamless by-pass. Their board can’t fool the locker position indicator, so when locker function is selected, the 12v signal will command the magnet to actuate and lock the axle, while the Smartbar is looking for a indicator voltage to display in the rotary switch blinking light, but it’s been by-passed, so it will trigger a voltage error because it thinks since there is no position voltage indicator feedback in the loop, the sending voltage to command the locker has failed.
