So wouldnt that indicate the wheel is a little out of balance?

Thuren'so new gas coils and Kings are in. Wilco carrier arrived too. Too bad I'm going to be out of town for the next two weeks.

I drove the truck a little tonight, the harshNess is largely gone. The truck still feels tight but it's very smooth.

I'll have some picks up next weekend.

Does anyone know if the Titan fuel cell that fits in the spare tire space will work with gas? I know it's only rated for diesel but I'm wondering if the pump will handle gas?

Thanks for the pics - looks great! How does the backup camera work with that tire carrier? What are your thoughts on the power/mpg with the 37s on stock gearing?

The carrier completely blocks the rear backup sensors and partially obstructs the camera. I am considering relocating the camera to the to the truck top. However, I don't intend to keep the spare tire carrier on the truck all the time.

The truck drives totally different with 5 PSI less in the front tires and the spare on the back. Wow, the ride is much softer now!

Cool, that carrier is wild. So Theuren gas coils x4 & King 2.5's x4? What's that all run for parts only? Big enough difference to be worth the cost? Truck is level now right but any change in total ride height, I think you listed elsewhere the back came down 1.5" right, so level but overall less lift now?

Front and rear coils, front and rear 2.5" Kings, front track bar, front boogies, rear sway bar links, and e-brake bracket. A tick over $3700 retail in parts. Don Thuren did the installation and alignment.

The front is +1.5" and the back is stock height without a spare tire or carrier. The tire and carrier are 200+ pounds. The truck is not level, it sits at least 1" high in the back but should be completely level when I put the cap on. I haven't driven the truck enough to give you an objective ride evaluation. The suspension is softening up and the added weight in the bed changed the ride drastically. Last week it felt close to stock, today it feels soft and compliant. I think the cap and bed build-out will have this thing riding like a dream. Stock with the spare in the bed and cap on, the truck still rode stiff.

Was it worth it? I doubt I'll ever drive the truck fast enough to warrant the 2.5" kings. But, I can't leave anything alone and I would eventually end up where I am now but incrementally. With what Don is working on I would be pretty happy with the new lower cost shocks. That isn't to say I'm not happy, just that I'm still unsure about my performance needs. I need to drive the truck more to be sure.

The upper and lower spring cups are still no-where near the same plane as eachother, but Dons coils sure seem to deal with it better.

The spring cup angles in the lower picture are steeper if you look closely.

Reloaderguy wrote:My spare tire and wheel came in last week. I picked it up on Friday and didn't notice they put the stick on wheel weights dead center in the wheel so they interfere with the front calipers. I took the wheel back Saturday morning and asked to have it rebalanced moving the weights out of the path of the calipers. This is what they gave me back. Note: The white strip is from the original wheel weights they peeled off.

They'll be rebalancing the wheel again and cleaning off the adhesive. I'll probably roll the tire up to their front counter so everyone can see it.

That is 10 ounces, 5 on each side. LOL!
a trick I learned from the go fast guys was to just air the tires up before you install them for a few days then put them on and don't even balance them anymore... I don't run any weights anymore and my trucks smooth on the highway

Hello Reloaderguy, the PW looks great!

That's what I thought when I put on my 2.5 kings but, be forewarned that sports car feel is addicting. You might find yourself driving a littler faster around town.

Get out on some open dirt roads and you'll be amazed how well those Kings handle 40-50 mph on the trail, the faster you go the better they like it, it's like a drug you can't get enough of.

If I could I put on some King 3.0's and an axle truss and go chase down a few raptors!

Yes, and why is that? Because of the little bit of additional lift, or did you actually change the caster somehow?

Imagine if someone made a replacement articu-link for the PW radius arm that was longer to account for the additional lift. Simple welded structure that cost $200 or less that adjusted the axle to the factory 2500 angles.
