Yep, see that, factory seem more flush with the horizontal plane of the axle...
Imagine if someone made a replacement articu-link for the PW radius arm that was longer to account for the additional lift. Simple welded structure that cost $200 or less that adjusted the axle to the factory 2500 angles.
Shorter articulink, maybe?

The spring rates feel close to stock but the dampening is much smoother. I have only driven the truck less than 50 miles so take it for what its worth. I assume the springs will settle slightly and the shocks will loosen up a little.

The carrier came in and I put it on. I am missing parts so this is temporary. I wanted to get an idea of ride height mainly. The truck cap is back and will get reinstalled on Saturday.

The front is almost exactly +1.5" over stock. The rear is the same height as stock. it should be pretty level with 350 additional pounds in the bed from the truck cap, spare, and carrier. I will be building out the bed in a month or two also.

I'm curious if the tire thingy rattles or rocks back and forth.

I agree, that truck is beautiful.

The short answer is yes, the long answer is no. I am waiting on a Class V adapter tensioner. The carrier is Class IV and only tensions in 2" receivers. There is slight play using the OE Class V adaptor. I used a Roadmaster Quiet Hitch (you can see it in the picture) but Wilco is actually making me an adapter/tensioner which will be a production product in the near future.

The factory oil looked terrible when I checked it a few weeks ago. I have been getting sporadic lifter ticking on start ups; not on long term cold starts (a week or more without starting) but after a few hours of sitting. It sounded like the lifters pumping up and would only lasted a split second. I was also hearing ticking that would come and go with heat cycles. Combined with the utterly filthy appearance of the oil and the thin feeling when I touched it, I decided to change the oil early (4200 miles) and install FilterMag filters in both diffs. I ordered Amsoil since it is the only oil beside PUP that meets FCA's certification. I also ordered Amsoil synthetic element filters. The club and shipping costs were high enough that I ordered two oil changes worth of oil and filters to amortize the additional fees across more than one service change.

I got the front FilterMag stuck to the ring gear and my 8 year old daughter got to hear a soldier's language in living color. Other wise everything else was uneventful. The biggest change is all of the ticking went away and the engine is silent. I plan on returning to the standard oil change interval recommended by FCA but mainly wanted to get the original engine build oil out. I understand that FCA has no recommendation for early changes but my work car's oil looked healthier after 8K miles than my truck's after 3.5K.

Glad i saw this. I am noticing the exact same lifter sound with my truck. Just turned 3000 miles with it. Sporadic, not really after longs sits, but more like just a few hour sit. I havnt even checked the oil in it yet. Hell now that i think about it, i dont think i have opened the hood yet.

My plan was to switch to amsoil also. What oil did you go with? And you say they had synthetic filters for it too?

I used their recommended filter (which is synthetic) and 0W-40 synthetic oil. I installed a Fumoto valve at the same time. I have a No-Spill valve too but didn't use it if anyone is interested in buying it.

I've had really good luck using the Mopar oil filter and Mobile Extended Performance 15K mile oil in mine. 150K miles and she's quiet, whatever the dealer was using, it was always noisy. I change the oil every 8K miles and it looks fine, dark but still translucent. Cheaper than Amsoil and can find Mobile just about anywhere. I do love amsoil, but confident with the cheaper Mobile in the block.

Thanks for the info gents. Mine (2012) has recently started ticking at startup on a daily basis. I am still on my free oil changes from purchase at the dealer (Certified Used) but I guess it is time to switch up. I can't stand how bad it sounds until the truck gets good and warmed up.

In another thread I incorrectly said Mobile 1 carried the MS certification. There are in fact only two oils that are certified for use in the 6.4: Penzoil Ultra Platinum and Amsoil 0W-40W Synthetic. The cost difference between the two brands is minimal, same for the oil filters. I have no way of knowing if the Amsoil is actually better but there are a bunch of reviews that reported the same performance differences I noticed. Perhaps it's just confirmation bias but it was worth the cost and wait (close to the same cost and ordered ahead of time). I'll probably continue to use Amsoil but I recognize your point and actually do the same as you in my other vehicles.

When I used to do all my own MX on my vehicles, I used Amsoil fluids (all) & filters in all my vehicles (sports cars & trucks). I kept the interval at 12mo's between oil changes & never had issues with any vehicle. There's a few great tech articles on lubricity & viscosity shear testing done by independent labs on several "premium" oils & Amsoil faired well, Royal Purple did not. If you're not an engineer, it's pretty dry, eye watering stuff, but I dig it.

Any other updates? Tire carrier additional parts solve the rattle? Have you had a chance to flex this up yet with the swaybar disco'd? I understand this will not be a crawler, but just curious how the tires fit.

I have not received the finished Class V adaptor yet. The carrier is rock solid with the quiet hitch. I haven't been home much lately and I've barely driven the truck.

For anyone interested, I've been working with Benny at All Mopar Parts to source the OE parts necessary to upgrade to factory dual alternators. The option is $400 when ordered from the factory. Based on the parts needed it looks like about a $700 upgrade aftermarket. This should be the same for all 2015-2017 Power Wagons as long as you have the factory 220A alternator option. Diesel guys have done this upgrade and said it is fairly simple and only requires a dealer to add the correct sales code (XF5 for gas trucks).

Nice! I asked my salesman this question when I chose to buy the truck I found that was already built as apposed to ordering one and waiting. The only option it didnt have that I wanted was the dual alternators and the tow mirrors. My salesman went back to the parts counter briefly and came back with a guestimate that it should be possible and should cost about $700+- to add it in. Looks like he may have been kinda close! Cant wait to see how it goes for you.
