Awesome, man!

The install is pretty straightforward, I installed mine by myself with the aid of a couple of jack-stands. The hardest part, for me anyway, was installing the bolts on the upper driver-side near the gas tank. They're well worth the money and effort though!

Congrats. Have someone there to help you if you can. Set them on jack stands and have your helper rotate them into place and hold them. It makes putting the bolts in much easier.

Good choice...same as mine, but mine are Line-X. Was a pain installing them, but a 6 ton floor jack & jack stands saved the day

I installed mine myself last week. Ordered them bare metal then had them Rhino Lined. If I had to do again, I'd probably order them powder coated from white knuckle. I was charged $450 for Rhino Liner due to the weight of the bars. They are a pain in ass to move around by yourself. Anyway install wasn't too hard, took me roughly 4 hours. Good luck, I'm sure you'll like them! The quality is excellent. Very well made.

I’m going to finally install my WK sliders over the Thanksgiving holiday - any other advice beyond what’s in this thread? I have a couple jacks, stands, and a brother-in-law to help. They are powdercoated and I am going to Herculiner where they’ll be stepped on for slip protection. Excited to finally get them on and my Dethloff skid, too!

Sliders really aren’t hard. Be prepared to move and/or chafe protect the wire harness that runs down the driver side frame rail. It’s easy to figure out.

For the Dethloff skid, I hope you have long orangutan arms with little tiny child hands. It’s not particularly difficult, just fiddly to get some of the harder to reach bolts started.

Do the skid plate first, after you’re pissed off with the two hard to reach nuts you’ll be prepared for the joys of installing sliders :)

My nuts ain't hard to reach.......................Oh wait a minute.............their in my wife's purse.

Wear a mouth guard when doing the sliders. Because when your hand slips off the slider and drops. You won't lose any teeth. Maybe a bump on the head. :secret:

They are fairly tedious thats for sure. But nothing too crazy difficult. I did them by myself laying on the garage floor. Having the truck up on a hoist and the sliders supported by two tall jack stands might be the whip, cause you spend a lot of time trying to finagle bolts and fingers into tight spaces... and its hard to drink beer when you are laying on your back

Ditto. Just tedious, but the work itself/task is easy and straightforward. Just no fun holding them up, or laying on your back with your arms over your head fiddling with a wrench and trying not to drop nuts and bolts.

You need a six pack at least.

Forgot to mention that I got the Dethloff skid installed and it fit perfectly. I can’t recall when I’ve had armor bolt up that easily. One mounting bolt was a pain, but the rest went slick. I took pictures and could post if people care to see, but fit was excellent and finish is, too.

👍 Dethloff!

Oh yeah, and thanks for the help with shipping to Alaska - living up here is a pain sometimes... 😬

That’s great to hear man! Yeah those nuts by the motor mount suck! I’ve got an improvement coming out that will make them a whole lot easier to do. Thanks again, I know it was getting costly to get it up to you!

I've been using grip tape/non slip stuff from amazon and it's worked great for 6+ months and plenty of washes and a bit of snow. Makes it way easier to step on when wet vs just the painted bar itself.

I used the same tape. It lasted 3 years. Have to put some more on my nerf bars.

My rusted over White Knuckle sliders have decent traction on the rust. :(

Massive amounts of salt and brine are used here - nothing seems to protect the steel without repeated applications...
