the only reason it bothered me on mine was because it began to wrinkle at the bottom on both sides... I actually liked the look with it because I have dark tinted windows... I have new vinyl they gave me but for now I like the look just as good with it off...adeluca73 wrote:I'm getting there as well. The only vinyl I have left is the window black. I'm not that overly offered by it & don't think it's all that big of a deal on or off. I looked at how it's wrapped, id guess it wouldn't be that big of a deal to remove if it starts bubbling or wrinkling.RamGentry wrote:
Good luck eliminating fake shit on modern cars...vents that don't vent, spoilers the provide more lift than downforce etc.
Well if you look at the splash graphics they went with the window vinyls are right in place. At least there is the option to remove them. I love the look of Laramie PWs and would go that route if I had the coin. I don't even care about the leather interior I just like the clean painted flares and monochromatic look. That being said I still love my two tone but I think the less "busy" I make it look the better it gets.

Update:
Bought some alumness sliders from ram4roks! First choice was WK but this being a budget truck, the used slider market is virtually non existent, and these being about 1/3 of the price it was too hard for me to pass up. I'm pretty sure they wont be wheeled as hard or as often as Morgan so they should be up to the job. They were a little beat up but after refinishing I'm pretty happy with the results and the fiance loves the step.

Nice !
Traded to 2019 ZR2, Red.
4Runner was a GREAT vehicle but could not even tow our 6x10 enclosed utility trailer comfortably, even when it was empty-ish.
It was time. Truck was still leaking BADLY every time it rained or snowed & melted. It was leaking at every single gasket (rear window, front window, all 4 doors). You could sit inside & watch it run down the inside of windshield, rear window & drip off the upper side door beams. It was molding on the inside & starting to stink. Needed new steering gearbox, shocks, new upgraded T-style steering, tires, brake lines, d/s manifold bolts that are barely recognizable due to rust-removed & replaced. Everyone around here would not even touch em once they looked at them.
So, say what you will. PW turned into a money pit. Was no longer a joy to drive. Hoping that this downsized 4x4 with lockers will fill the bill & have minimal problems, but..... As long as manufacturers keep making engineers design things that fail soon after warranty is up, we are going nowhere fast. Regardless of what you buy.

Well I'm back! Had 4 months in Fort Benning for my OSUT infantry training. Now that thats over with I can get back to driving my baby!
Next up is a custom bed rack build to hold my RTT and keep my tonneau cover covering the bed. Should be a cool build with the help of a local shop guy. I'll post up some pics once it gets going.

Had this fabbed up this week
The thing is stout... I brought a crappy hand drawn design and the guys @ Zeus offroad took it from there. Talked to Chad the owner, great guy, did the work himself and kept the budget truck on a budget. It has about 5" going into the stake holes and then 1/4 20 bolts bolted down into factory locations. To keep costs down I am coating it myself, going to use the same product I sprayed my bumper and rock rails with. Its heavy so it takes 2-3 guys to get it on/off. I am going to build a pulley/storage system in the garage (like a jeep top) to get it on and off in the future.

Re: 2nd Chance PW
Wow we have the same truck. Very cool man! That's simpler than mine was. I did the same thing and went way too heavy duty on the rack. I could take it off myself but it weighs about 180lbs. Way too much. Smoothed the ride out though lol
Good work keeping it on a budget!

Re: 2nd Chance PW
Damn we do have very similar trucks! The two main things I wanted out of my rack is for the tent to stay under the roof line and I wanted it to be compatible with the tonneau cover. This way my gear can go in the bed and stay out of sight and dry. The way its configured it will actually stay just below the 3rd brake light and still allow the tonneau to roll all the way back. Its also wide and long enough that I'll be able to clamp on tools to the side, in front of, or behind the tent. I'm really excited to test it out this spring!

Very cool, I like that you could use your tonneau. The low profile is nice too. Mine site below the roof but blocks the brake light.

Yep, they all came as part of the graphics package. I had them on my '10 along with the POWERWAGON on the hood. I debadged those as well as my hemi badge.
