Well I removed the 6" Thuren diesel coils for a set of his 3" Thuren diesel
Soft coils and I am loving the handling increase in the truck. Along with the bed cage and front 3.5's the trucks handling like it's on rails. Also on a side note I did manage to demolish and crack a trail ready bead lock running really low psi and falling into an ice hole at higher speeds then I should have been doing with only 8psi in the tires. Luckily trail ready sent me a new wheel and I am seriously considering running a dual spare set up in the near future cause I go through wheels and tires a lot. Lolol Image as you can see with the trucks bed full of running gear for pre running/ any offroading it sits level now with the front. Image I did leave AlL my drops in for the 6" lift though so the front end has crazy flat drag link and track bar angles etc. which means it has no bump steer and the turning feels very nice and stable. Because all my drops are still in place and I'm running 12" stroke shocks I did lose quite a bit of up travel so at ride height I only have about 5.5-6" of up travel. And about 5" of droop before the coil is too loose to use. Image

Gas tank, driver and battery all make the drivers side much heavier. Gas tank kills the rear leaf.

"Frankenwagon" short and sweet.

Post by 2wagons1driveway » Fri Nov 02, 2018 1:08 pm

Wow it’s been along time since I could log in and post! Thanks mike! I should be a regular again here now. Had an eventful summer, with zero off-roading as I took a trip to Ontario with my girlfriend who became my fiancé after the trip, we then got home to a flooded house! Toilette fresh water line burst and flooded all three levels of our house while we were on vacation Image so insurance has been lovely to deal with sending all kinds of idiots to my house to try and repair it and hack it back together. News on the wagon: she’s been sitting: a lot: the rear shocks are pulled and I had them powder coated in gold last week as the winter wheeling killed the factory king coating after a year etc. also had some new shafts made up for them and got some big ass shock boots off of a bmw actually that should help totally eliminate my rock chip issue eating seals etc. still working on spacing my front shocks up as I relocated the factory battery underneath the rear passenger seat and installed some junction boxes for all my electrical stuff up front. The plan here is to space the front 12” stroke king 3.5’s up two full inches at a 3” lift height to produce 11.5-12” of wheel travel at the 3” lift height. Normally 12” shocks are reserved for 6” lifts as the geometry and size of the 12” shock body doesn’t allot it to pull that much travel unless it’s got a much taller tower so I had some spacers machined up that are 2” thick and the exact cad design don uses for his towers. They actually came out pretty nice looking and shouldn’t be brutally obvious. I will probably run into radius swing issues with the large 3.5” shocks and will have a lot of clearance going to do but this should make the truck even faster offroad than it is now. Future plans for the truck are some more horsepower and possibly new thuren LT leafs as my old atlas ones are nice and soft... but sag out brutally over time especially on the drivers side with that big ass fuel tank. I’ll post up some pics of the battery relocate and the shocks after their make over: ImageImageImagei did find a nice pw that matches my shirt at the last car show I went to but it wasn’t for sale... and it was kind of a bastardized pos but still cool lol Imagemy daily/ pull truck got treated to a full thuren overland system minus rear leafs this summer and I am super happy with that. It’s consistently getting 600 miles a tank with the higher power tune from the smarty touch on it and shouldn’t have any issues pulling my power wagon whenever I get a decent wide low boy car hauler for it! Image this is my current situation with the shocks I need to either really really really massage those brake lines from the master or just bend up some new ones as my new front shocks set up will hit those brake lines quite badly so I’m hoping I can figure out what size they are and make up some new lines to get going on this project. Then the p.wagon needs some on hoist love, greasing, tightening, and some fluid changes and I should be good to put some miles on it in the spring again Image

Cheapskate Silver bodies and reservoirs and Broke Blue end caps. AK doesn’t salt roads, so hopefully they will hold up for a long time without needing extra coating.
