Ok, winch in, rope in, fairlead and hook installed!! It works to clock the winch release lever straight up! Hides behind the light, and has room to swing past the grill!! I notched the cover plate for the release handle, and will take the plate in to get it powdercoated. Soon. Maybe. For now, I'm just glad to have it mounted, and didn't have to swap to a short handle. Really handy to access, as both my plug, and release handle are on top of the bumper now!!

Oh, and I did have to pull the grill to get it in, clocked this way. Just a heads up for anyone else thinking of going to is way, for reference, it's best to pull the grill to install the ARB bumper. Gives you all sorts of extra room!

I really like that ARB bumper. Pretty much the best setup for a mix of play and oilfield work, of which I do both, like you.

I'll be doing that same mod this summer if work continues.

Did you run 3/8 line or 7/16? I got a few quotes on 7/16 from Masterpull and Amsteel guys in Cranbrook, upwards of $900 for 90ft. Ouch! Also, do you find the weight of the bumper plays on the springs and handling up front? I have had heavy bumpers on trucks before and without rhyme or reason, a couple of them really affected the handling and new shocks were needed to control it.

Overall, she handles like it wasn't even there. It doesn't dive or wallow at all. Of course, I'm not beating it up and down lease roads or remote sites. I'm just setting it up so if I have to, I can roll out fitting again.
I went with 125' of 7/16". Masterpull line, and went direct. By the time the exchange was factored, and UPS held me up for another $130, I would have got the same, or maybe a bit better of a price thru 4wp.

Figured I'd jump in on this thread since it seems like you guys have some good winch knowledge. I'll try to keep it brief. Bought an '07 about a year ago with no winch or mount. Bought a used winch and mount about a month ago and tried installing it. Didn't work. Looks like it's a different version, I'm thinkin from a newer 4th gen based on the pictures in this thread. I didn't realize they were different. Seems like the motor's on the wrong side. Anyone know if I can make it work? Maybe I could turn it over in the mount??
Also was wondering about "clocking". Assuming that mean changing the angle of the clutch lever? Can I do that? Sure would suck if I can't use this winch. I'd post pics if I knew how.

I've heard rumours of changed winch mounts and set ups from 3rd to 4th gen.

I've thrown pics in here of the stock set up. Big Blue, I'll PM you my #, and we can text/talk and get it figured out. Everyone told me there was no way this would work, but it did, I'm sure we can figure it out!

Thanks Gravel! I'm pretty sure what I have is the newer set up. Mounts MAY be the same but winch is positioned differently. The way it's set up now the cables are on the wrong side, away from the battery, and it doesn't fit. I thought about flipping it on the mounting bracket but then that hoses up the remote connector. There's a whole in the cradle where it mounts. I'm gonna have to look at it some more. I'm not a very experienced mechanic. I can bolt stuff together but if I have to make modifications that's a little different.

My power box/motor was on the passenger side. With my set up now, it's on the drivers side, and I clocked the gearbox/release handle to a straight up set up. My battery on the '15 is drivers side. Where's yours? You could always get longer leads for it. Does the winch mount physically fit? Too bad you're not around here! We could get it together over a beer or two and figure it out!

She's up on 37" tires now, no lift. Full flex, and only rubs the sway bars at full lock.
