As far as how they compare to the MTR's, I'd say it's too soon to tell exactly. Noise level is roughly the same going down the road and the MTRs don't see to plow as much into corners. I haven't had any adverse weather here, or ventured out in the mud with them, yet. When that time comes, I'll let you know how they compare side-by-side.
Well, whats the word?!
Bird's the word!

So far, I think they behave very similarly to the KM2s in the winter. They still slide a little bit in the corners, but I don't think as badly. They claw through the snow just as well as the KM2s and handle ice in the same manner. I've got them all aired to 35 psi, as I found that's where the full contact patch comes into play.

I haven't had them "off road" yet, since everything here is still covered in snow/ice. When the construction season comes back around (hopefully soon, because I'm getting REALLY sick of all this white crap!), I'll be able to give a better report.

Modication/Alteration #8: Thuren High Clearance Control Arms: October 21, 2016

Added the Thuren Control Arms on Friday. Install took about 2.5 hours (I'm very meticulous and I had beer. ) The ride of the truck is SO much better! It's so smooth going over dips and bumps now.

I only do what the majority of the 4 voices in my head tell me to. In most cases, I ignore two of them because one doesn't speak English, and I suspect the other is talking to someone else.

EMF ball joints ordered and in my possession. Waiting on Spicer u-joints, as they're on backorder. Should help with any problems on stepping up to 37s.... :)

Follow the EMF instructions! I over tightened my lowers instead of following his spec of loosening them and I paid for it with crappy steering. Loving the EMFs now that it them set right.

Modification/Alteration #9: EMF Ball Joints, Spicer 5-3212X U-Joints, SKF Wheel Hub Assemblies, PFC Carbon Metallic Brake Pads & Bosch Quietcast Rotors: June 17, 2017

Well, this was a long days worth of work. 10 Hours later, everything was installed. With 86,500 miles on the truck and having never replaced any of these parts, I figured just bite the bullet, buy once and cry once. I have to say, with everything installed, the truck is extremely solid now. The truck drives like new all over again and the brake pads seem to help a little in stopping power/distance. The biggest PITA was the new u-joints. Pressing the old ones out, everything was fine. However, pressing the new ones in place, there was no movement in the joints without exerting a good amount of pressure to the axles to get them to budge. I've never had u-joints that tight before, but I'm hoping they'll wear in and loosen up a bit over time. Has this happened to anyone else? I triple checked the part number and everywhere I read stated that the 5-3212X was to be used for my year of a truck. Who knows, but I hope it all works out well.

PS, I would have taken pictures, but I was so freaking tired/dirty/sweaty/exhausted by the end, I just wanted to be done.

Well, that's good to know that it's a normal thing! It had me worried there for a little bit that I might have done something wrong, or ordered the wrong part!

Whenever i do ujoints, once i have them pressed in and caps on i will swivel them, and if they dont move too overly easy i will tap on the shaft one way or the other with a hammer (with something pressed up against the end cap), then swivel it again, so on and so forth, until they move freely in all directions (if that makes any sense - kind of hard to explain).

I understand what you're saying. They were hard/near impossible to swivel at first without some major muscle input, so I "opened" them up a little by using a brass punch and hammering outwards on the "axle ears". They moved a little better, but still very hard to swivel. I guess time will tell how well do?........
