Question, I ordered them with the install kit but it wasn't sent. Do you have to use it to install them?

I only do what the majority of the 4 voices in my head tell me to. In most cases, I ignore two of them because one doesn't speak English, and I suspect the other is talking to someone else.

The cup press piece that comes with the install kit is a very specific size that most of the smaller press kits do not come with. And it's physically thinner wall to fit. I would say yes unless the joint press you find is very comprehensive

Ya you do need it maybe not for lower as much as upper. It basically distributes the press weight around the entire top of the joint. I'm sure if you were very careful it could be done but I would wait for it. And order a truss while your waiting ;) they take awhile to build anyways

I can't get in touch with a sole at 8lug so it looks like I'll hope for the best. It's going on the rack in the morning, no possible way to get the kit in time anyway. I wish now I had brought them to work with me. I see it is simply a bushing to extend the press socket and reach the lip on the joint. I probably could've fabbed something that will work.

I'm sure they'll figure it out as well, they work on all kinds of vehicles. It was a rainy trip in this morning and they put it on the rack just before I left, from across the bay I noticed the King was screaming, "look at me" shiniest thing on the truck. Haha

They said the ball joints were real easy but the axle ujoints about kicked their ass. But its all in. I sprayed it all down with corrosion x Monday and hit it with a pressure washer yesterday so it all came apart good. The c clips were the hang up on the new ujoints.

BTW, both top ball joints are damn near seized up, you have to take channel locks on both side to make them move. The lowers flop around all over the place. Looks like the uppers is what was making my steering stick.

Alright, on the other rack, lifted by frame, full axle droop, I can twist the passenger coil and the driver coil is 1/2" out of the bucket...

Did you check to be sure there was no bind in the front driveshaft by turning it with your hand?

You should really get some limit straps on the front of your truck, it's wise move to protect the investment you just made in shocks. Unseating your coil springs a 1/2" isn't going to cause any major problems generally speaking, but topping out your front shocks is less than ideal for their longevity. Also puts less strain on tie rod ends of the drag link and the driveline

I did not rotate the drive shaft, would that be an issue, I know too much angle but will this be too much? I was considering Thurens 2" coils but didn't think about the shocks not being able to take the drop... I'll keep it on the ground for now haha. But I do want to protect the system.

Should be just fine. Running at a high angle constantly is what deteriorates the front shaft. Your angles are fine. And you most likely will not be running flat out and have the front axle max it's droop out. I've also had the wonderful c clip experience. You get good at it after awhile. The spicers just don't seem to compress enough after the first clip is in to do its opposing. Big vice works or the press. Looks awesome will. You will easily notice the front end being tighter. Have fun greasing the lower joint. It's hard to get to with tire on. And axle shaft in lol. Get us some feedback!!

I immediately noticed a much tighter feel. I can tell there was definitely play in the joints because small bumps are much more secure and I don't have the front end wonder that I had along with some steering issues.. The combo of the joints and shocks is an extreme improvement over what I had two weeks ago. The steering was sticky in curves and lightly unpredictable, I realized now the upper joints were binding and all but completely seized up. Steering is nice and fluid now with no surprises. I'll find out more throughout the weekend and do some off-road. There's a really messed up logging road that I will travel and that will give lots of feedback. I'm happy with everything so far. The trucks feels like it lost 2,000 pounds.

That's awesome, falling in love with your truck all over again lol. Yeah man, it's not likely you'll droop out far enough to bind your front driveshaft but it is something to be aware off. When that does happen carnage ensues.

I found on mine that casting irregularities in the yoke hit and a dremel cleaned it up so it it all cleared rotated smooth again.
