I only do what the majority of the 4 voices in my head tell me to. In most cases, I ignore two of them because one doesn't speak English, and I suspect the other is talking to someone else.

Finally changed the steering out. Broke off the stud in the pitman arm, drilled it out, little heat and persuasion, self alignment, drives like a brand new one now. ImageImageImageImageImage

Well shit.... Went to pull in 4wd and shifter is loose as a swinging dick. Raining so I'll get under tomorrow morning and figure out what came apart. Something in the linkage, can slap it around from 4lo to 4hi with zero resistance.

Ordered these parts today. Thanks man. That stock bushing bullshitis for the birds. I tried because local auto parts store had the bushings but never could get one in and messed it all up trying.

That is AWESOME!!!!!! can I make a quick possible recommendation If it is even possible.. Is there a way to install that rod on the other side of the shifter levers? I am saying this out of experience, but when I blew a front Driveshaft rear assembly one day on the trail, it took out my entire shifter assembly, bent the levers, and was soo close to taking out my T-case that that picture shows. When it happened I thought to myself "thank god that lever was a cheap metal/plastic assembly" and it was able to "give" With the pics I see it is VERY close to the D-shaft and when it pops, it will not "give' as well as the factory unit. Is there a way to put it on the other side? Jus thinking outside the box for when you are balls deep on the throttle, bouncing off a rock, and your D-shaft decides to shatter;)

if its possible to put on the other side for more clearance away from the D-shaft,,,,,, I might just upgrade to this bad ass shifter rod....

I think it would fit on the other side probably, I welded in a front driveshaft safety hoop on my truck to avoid that very problem though.

On one of the other truck forums a guy was showing off his new Thuren kit. His “installer” bolted the driver side e-brake bracket to the rear diff like some kind of cosmetic/vanity tag.

It’s amazing we haven’t devolved to living in trees and throwing poop at each other yet.

And, lets add some grease between the frame and joint so no matter how much you tighten it, it will still move around... Image

True but damn. Scarey, thinking about some of the folks on here letting other people install their stuff. I do my own alignment also. They had the cam bolts all jacked up. One had the mark pointing straight down, one straight up. I get the distance is the same but come on now...

Only the uppers. They were installed with the offset towards the tire instead of away. I can just flip them in place. I'm pulling the Trac bar also to make sure it's the proper length and jamb nut is tight as hell. Don't trust any of it now until I go through it all.
