Oh don't worry, that's not salt. It's a mixture of road dust that got covered in water, then ice, then snow, then melted and froze again, etc., etc. Our local road district is too poor to afford to put salt on the roads, we have to use sand on everything instead. I rarely wash it since I live on a gravel road, and that combined with the weird weather we've had over the last month has made it look like crap.

A good example of that weather is that yesterday (sunday afternoon) it was over 40 here, very nice, thought about going to the car wash actually. Then last night around 7 it started raining (~34*f), then it got cold and turned into freezing rain, then around midnight or 1 in the morning it started snowing. Then when I woke up around 10am this morning it was cold as crap out (about 5*f, - 10 or so with the wind chill), so all that crap got frozen onto both my trucks since I don't have a garage to park in. I hate living in the midwest just because of this ridiculous weather we get.

Not much of a modification update but I had one of my buddies who pin strips work a little bit of magic on some black express badges I ordered, they turned out awesome. Not sure on when I'll be getting them installed, but I'll be sure to update with pics when I do.

Had the truck in the shop today for it's 3rd oil change, tire rotation, etc. and got those badges on. Also gave it it's first bath in the last 4 months to help with the maintenance since it was 55 out and the warmest it's been in the last 4 months. Hardest part was getting the rear badge off the tailgate along with all the 3M backing and glue. Going to take the tow hooks up to the powder coater this coming week to get done in red. Outta be awesome once I get those back. Also took the CAT novelty plate off the front since it was ruining the black and red theme. Planning on getting some smoked clearance lights here in the next week or two also. Might also be looking at some rims and tires in April or May. Got laid off back in the beginning of February so it's going to be slow going with small unemployment checks.

Looks good!

A little off topic, but is that a small portion of the back of a Honda Big Red 250 3 wheeler I see to the side of your truck? Damn I miss mine... shoulda never gave in and sold it!

Is the red matching??? My OCD keeps lighting off, probably just the pic but the badge looks lighter. I definitely like my smoked cab lights.

Yea it's a little brighter red than the stickers, it's an "inferno" red, my buddy didn't have anything from the truck to color match from. It kind of fucks with me too, I may hit it with a couple passes of VHT spray on tint to darken it a little. And yea olyelr, that's an '85 Big Red, it's my dads. He uses it to run around the farm on.

Lol... Stick this is getting weird... Your MO plate is what I was going for, same color wagons and a Honda three wheeler! You're at north end of missouri and I'm at south...

Lol, he's got an old 1976 ATC 90 that is in damn near mint condition sitting up on a storage shelf in the back of the shop too. He also has an '02 Rancher 4x4 that he hardly never rides in brand new condition. I always ask him why he has it and he just laughs. Anyway I took the truck outside earlier and took some more pics, it doesn't look as bad in natural light, still bright, but not as bad. My friends down at Daytona Bike Week right now, but he said when he gets back he'll look at it and see if he can darker it alittle.

Thanks, they really changed the whole look of the truck in person. I was in O Reilly's earlier picking up a few things and saw they had LED bulbs in various different types. I decided to pick up a pair for my license plate lights but didn't realize they had white and red until I got home, and I got red. I figured what the hell and put them in anyway and they look pretty badass, I don't know how well they'll light the plate up after dark but we'll see, also don't know if they are legal or not so I'll just leave them in until I get pulled over and told to change them. I also went ahead and ordered some Recon smoked clearance lights and a WeatherTech bug deflector ealrier since I've been wanting them. Last year I had a couple rocks hit my windshield and they sounded like they just about cracked it, so better safe then sorry right? Anyway here's some pics of those lights, I'll try and get some pics at night sometime too.

Maybe the red lights will change your plate to red with black lettering - they will think you are from out-of-state

Lol, I just looked at the MO laws for rear lights and it says you have to have white illuminating the license plate so I guess I'll get some white ones and put them im the glove box.

Well there probably won't be many more mods for awhile, if any. One of my buddies I worked with told me earlier today that they just laid off the rest of our shift at work and he doesn't have a call back until June. So I'm going to have to start saving money in case I don't have a job in a few months. This sucks.

I already got laid off back in February, he had time on me so it got me and he stayed. Now he got laid off too so we must be slowing way down. We've never had this many people laid off where I work.

Few flex shots I got while playing around earlier today. First time I've got a wheel off the ground, didn't even know it was off the ground until I got out and looked. Also got my WeatherTech deflector in today and got it on. Install was a bit harder than I thought it would be for something so simple but only took about 15-20 minutes. Not sure I like the looks yet but if it saves my windshield from being cracked then I think I'll get over it.

Pics of the plate lights at night. They definitely give it a mean appearance but you definitely wouldn't be able to read that plate when you pass me or even if you're following me. Also got my smoked Recon lights today so I should have those on tomorrow or Saturday.

Got those Recon lights on, very happy with the outcome, really brought the rest of the truck together with the black and red scheme. Also should have my front tow hooks back from the powder coater sometime too. I ended up using the factory gaskets from the factory clearance lights for the Recons since the ones they sent were a little too big and didn't fit the lights as snug as I liked. Also put a good bead of silicone around the edge of each light as well as a dab in each screw hole before putting them in and tightening them down, so I shouldn't have any issues with them leaking. It's gunna stay in the shop for a day to make sure it sets up and seals good too, to I make sure of it.

After that I got to looking at everything and decided to remove the hemi badge on the fenders to get rid of the last little bit of chrome. I was thinking of having my buddy paint them like my emblems but I don't think it would have looked as good. Anyway here's pics of everything, I may be able to pick up a Pro-link or something sometime in the future but we'll see what the budget allows.
