All you bastards with your lifted Power Wagon's. I swear this place is going to make me cave. I keep saying the truck is fine in stock form, but once my stock tires die I'm afraid of what might happen. I look forward to the pictures.

I have a quick fix for you. I can put everything on a pallet and ship to you! Lift, lights, whatever else you need. Remember, the lift has to come before the tires! Hahaha.

I got bigger hooves without leg extensions :D But I would love to have an upgraded system for the ride and maneuverability.

I went into the dealer looking to have the truck leveled and in looking at all the info the leveling kit is just a 2" lift in the front to also lift the rear wasn't that much more so I had them lift the whole truch by 2". I know its not a lot but last time I was at Rausch Creek I kept dragging belly on things and this should help with that. Also the wife wouldn't let me go for the 4". She holds the purse strings and looking at all the posts on here its a good thing or you guys would have talked me into bankruptcy. :cash: :cash: :cash: :D

Still has the rake to it though?... I'm thinking just a 1.5" up front, maybe kore bumps and 35s. If went to a full lift I'd have to get leaf packs... not a fan of blocks

I'm interested to see some video of your truck at Moab this year with your current set up. It should give all the 4G guys a good idea of the trucks capabilities are with some simple modifications.

Why do you need a 2" lift on the 05. I'm running 35" tires stock height and suspension.

Better approach angle & ground clearance. I know tires are what really give you lift, but it's still a good idea to get the frame and guts off the ground.

Ok that works. Now put some 37" tires on next. You know for more ground clearance and better approach angles. That's why I went 40's. Lol

I would love tto go up to that size but that would require some more upgrades first. The tires I just put on already catch the conrtol arms when turning sharp.

Just out of curiosity, do you tow anything? I'm certainly looking to upgrade to 35's when my stock tires wear out. I know I have the clearance for that. I'd love to do a lift with 37's, but I'm afraid that would affect my towing capabilities. Thoughts?

I wouldn't worry about the towing difference from 35 to 37" tires. it will be negligible. I ran 37's on a Mega Cab that was my hauling rig. No problems at all. And it was stock but for a simple 2" lift. I consistently hauled 6-12,000lbs. loads. Truthfully, if you go to 35's you won't even notice the difference going to 37's. If you want 37's run them.

In fact, if you stick with stock gearing there is a chance you may get better fuel economy on the highway going to 37's and effectively increasing the gearing ratio. Of course, you own a power Wagon so MPG are not of concern to you anyway. Right? That said I don't know if that will be the case or not.

MPG isn't a concern, it's just the loss of torque that concerns me. Smaller tires equal reduced gearing. The bigger the tire the more torque you lose. I want the best of both worlds since I off-road and tow.

I just stepped up from 35s to 37s. I can tell you that the vast majority of 35s have 50psi ratings at 3000lbs. I found that many of the 37s are either 50psi or 65psi and on average have 500 pounds more capacity which should help in load carrying.

Just throwing it out there..

You know what I meant by gear ratio. LOL. Honestly, I don't think you will notice much difference either on road, towing, or off-roading between 35 and 37's! When you move up to 40's is when you notice it. With 35's you won't have to worry about any clearance issues. With 37's you may have to make a few further mods to accommodate. As far as off-roading it won't make much difference at all either. A 35 will go anywhere a 37 will really!

I suppose for me it would come down to how much towing and off-roading I was doing. More towing go 35. More off-roading 37. But its really a personal choice. The affect on torque and mileage won't be all that noticeable either way!
