I hate hen skin crap. I'm a welder by trade, and still have no love of that garbage. We've been doing a lot of sch 10 stainless, and you'll never see shrinkage like that crap, even at a polar bear swim! Glad I don't have to weld that anymore!

Me too!!!!!! Picking up the camper next weekend. Here is the link to the unit that I bought. I already has the AC unit on the roof, and the electric awning on the side with LED lighting and the outdoor stereo package. I am going to add (3) Renogy 250W solar panels to the roof,,, dual optima batteries,,, I am going to fab up a 50 gallon water tank inside one of the side compartments on the service body, and also make it so my Honda EU2000i generator will run INSIDE the rear storage compartment on the service body with fans blowing in and out and a 5 gallon fuel can inside also to feed the generator, so that I can run the genny with the door closed. LOTS of cool shit I am going to do to this camper/truck

I love the look of a utility body for this setup. Maybe when my bed rots away. But, I guess i need to drive more than 6000 a year for that to happen!

It helps to have a company-owned truck!

OK.. For the water tank that will be installed into the service body I found the perfect 45 gallon water tank (33" x 32" x 11") that will fit perfectly in the first cabinet on the passenger side. The camper holds 26 gallons, so I will have the ability to carry 72 gallons of water total... I will have a separate water filtration system and on demand pump installed in the same cabinet to pump the water into the camper on an "on-demand" basis. STOKED about this!!! http://www.plastic-mart.com/category/33/rv-water-tanks

The Honda generator (EU2000i) will be installed at the drivers rear cabinet on the bottom, I am going to install the "exhaust/cooling enclosure kit" so that the geny will run inside the cabinet with a closed door. I am installing an "extended run time" kit on the geny, I found a perfect fuel tank (8 gallons) that will fit in the same cabinet above the generator that will feed the generator fuel. http://www.generator-line.com/services.html

I ordered the Solar panels from Renogy for the roof with the charge controller http://www.renogy-store.com/400W-RV-Sol ... 00d-vs.htm

I also decided to build a custom rear swing away tire carrier to be built after the camper is installed this weekend to carry my spare tire, and fuel tanks (diesel and gas) I will begin the swing away on Wed. next week and will post pics during the build.

THanks for following:)

I really like this build so far.

Are you going to leave the camper on full time, or just as needed?

Regarding the genset install- I have a concern about the exhaust. Does the kit route the exhaust away from the truck, as in extend the pipe to a safe distance to keep CO out of the living space? I would hate to see the camper fill with CO while you are sleeping.

Thanks man.. I am getting very excited. I am leaving Sunday morning and driving up to Tenn. to pick it up on Monday then drive back to Florida. The Camper will be on Full Time, (the electric lift poles will be removed) and the truck will be turned into a Krawler puller/camp truck for the many trips out west, and to the Baja pennisula.

The Genset will have the exhaust and the cooling air put outside of the truck with the kit in the link (generator-line) above. I have used this kit before in an enclosure at a buddy of mines' cabin in Tennessee (off Grid) and it really works well. I too will keep an eye on the Carbon Monoxide build up, and am lucky the camper has the monoxide detector already installed with an alarm built in.

Freakin love it... plenty of room under the cab to mount the surfboard rack,,, surfboards,, and the dual row 53" LED light bar.

Will start the swing away tire carrier tom morning with the fuel mounts etc.etc.

I will also be fabbing up metal brackets. and metal sheats to "fill in the gaps" on the tailgate and above the service box to tuck nicely under the camper for a flush fit :D :D :D

driving to Tennessee I averaged 19.8mpg (hand calculated) averaging 84mph

Driving Home from Tennessee I averaged 14.7 (hand Calculated) averaging 78mph

I figure with the 38ft enclosed trailer in tow (with the dodge and the Polaris Ranger AND all tools, and spare parts) the total weight of the trailer and gear is 14,000 pounds. I figure I will average about 11 to 12mpg at 75 to 80mph

Ultimate expedition/trip rig setup, very cool. And those aren't bad numbers at all with that much weight in tow.

Thanks fellas... I am so damn excited for the trip to Moab. I hate to say it,,,, but I think I am having more fun with this build than the other Dodge,..... I will admit,, The camper was WAY bigger than I thought ,,, but the amount of room inside makes it up.. It slid right into the back of the truck, and when I took the weight off the jacks, it only squated 1" I think the 6 guys in the "installation dept" were shocked when they saw it handle the weight,,,, go RAM!!!!!!!

Looks like you spent some time on stickers as well :) does the gap in the back run full length of the bed? If so it would be a great place for a drawer

HHAHAHAHA Yes. I transferred the stickers from the other dodge from the tool boxes that I removed in order to do the truggy conversion. I was reluctant to throw them away, so I tried to spend the time to get them onto the new camper. YOU ARE CORRECT, the 8" gap runs the entire length of the bed, and am already in the midst of make a slide out tray (aluminum) for storage, and that can handle the weight of the camper. 8'' x 48" I am going to make a tray that slides open (2 of them) on each side for storage, on rollers, and have the support run both sides and the middle. Maybe the perfect place to store dirty laundry :)

Still trying to figure out a way to include a small washer/dryer combo.... But I guess I cant have everything that my RV has to offer;(
