I take my truck off road almost every day, I really like these new shocks. They have a nice firm ride but not harsh at all. The ones they replaced were Pro Comps, one of which was leaking oil. Both old shocks felt pretty soft compared to the Bilstiens. The truck feels more secure and I have less bottoming out on hard dips in the road. The Pro comps were new on the truck when I bought it about two years ago...they didn't last long.

What ones did you get?

Is that shock mounted body down? If so how does it work and how did you do it?

yep shocks are mounted body down, the only way it could be done, it's the way they are built.
What would have taken about an hour at most on old iron took me most of the day...I had to take both batteries out which was way more trouble on driver's side. There I had to remove the fuse box and abs unit before I could get the battery box out. In retospect next time I just might try doing it by removing the fender liners and going at it from the bottom. I had to take the fender liners out to get everything back in anyway LOL

They make a substantial improvement over the stock PW shocks, and a huge improvement over the factory diesel shock. Your gonna like'm. They really reduced the side to side sloshing off highway, and don't get too loose on wash board. When mine are done (at 40K now) I'll be going to the 7100 to get further improvements.
I'm just along for the ride...

I wondered if the were the same as the stock Power Wagon sets, my rear sets were replaced by the dealer three times due to leaking seals. Didn't cost me a "red cent", funny how these things happen... can you say, abuse?

I had just put a new damper on so no...I don't remember the make of the damper but it wasn't a generic POS. I don't mind paying for quality parts.

The more I drive with these new shocks the more I like em! Even on pavement there is a noticable difference.

Do you happen to know what the part numbers for the shocks are? I am in the market for a set. Thanks Lee

My little brother just installed a full set of new Bilstein 5100's on his 2010 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel, cannot say anything bad about them at all. They are a big step-up from the ProComp shocks he installed with his 4" suspension.
