Works well in the garage  , I have no "real world" tests, due to the fact that the truck broke & I installed after the fact. I'll let you know once the truck is driving. :secret:

Do you have some 17" Walker's for trade? Actually the truck sits on the stock wheels, I used a 2006 Dodge 2500HD wheel only for full size spare...these aluminum wheels are better for spares than the steel wheels, so I replaced it. You can see pictures showing the truck with the stock wheels on it...not sure where you thought they're for sale? I have X1 "regular" non-Power Wagon, polished aluminum,17", Dodge 2500/3500HD, wheel for sale...for the guys that want to ditch the steel spares.

Thank you Mr. Smith for the pictures. I am "relieved" :)

Cant you flip those rear shocks the other way, so they wont be "rock hangers" when you wheel the rig?? Aluminum and rocks NEVER get along;)

Dan Torino with Carli said at full compression you'll have interference with the reservoir & the truck bed. Anyone have luck installing the King 2.5 piggy-back reservoir inverted.

To be honest the KING shocks are well known for having soft shafts that are prone to being nicked by rocks and such. I think keeping them inverted is a good idea for longer leak free use. Those shafts don't like road salt either so if mounted shaft down upgrading to the stainless steel shaft would be a must.

Good call...they are stainless shafts. Mounting the reservoir on the axle side with the shaft up is what saves the seals from debris impact.

I have the piggyback kings on the back as well. I tried 12 ways to Sunday to mount them in the upside down position, but there is no way without modifying the bed rails. So mine are mounted the same way yours are. I wish I had gone with remote resivoirs in the the back for easier installation, but all in all I can't complain about the performance of these shocks. they are great. I also went with the stainless steel shafts on mine.

When I bought the truck it was late in 2009, there were not a lot of choices as far as options left on the lots. In fact I went to Salt Lake City,UT to purchase, due to the fact that Colorado did not have any leftover. This is the first modification on the truck, pain in the @55 when trying to get the correct radio bezel color & inset color(the dealer needed vin numbers of one that had the right bezel, plus my vin, plus his vin, plus her vin, you get the picture).

Sorry the pictures are lacking detail, when I post detailed pictures the forum site will not accept them. Stated that the picture is a larger tolerance than allowed on this site. :thppt:

Received the driver TRE from Thuren Fabrication on Tuesday the 26th of November. Finished the truck that night after work, using Don's suggestions for a proper alignment. Had the truck professionally aligned the next day, everything was spot on except the toe-in was out only 20 thousandths.
Here's the truck...

At high speeds the truck soaks up all four taking flight(whoops, bumps & jumps) no problem...handles perfectly. At low speeds the truck is noticeably stiffer, however still out performs stock by leaps & bounds. I've still some drag-link adjustment & a final re-torque to be completed & installation of the front steering dampener skid-plate. The CraveSpeed stubby aluminum antenna works quite well...when I'm not listening to satellite radio or DVD. Any questions I may have left out, or forgotten to answer...feel free to ask.

Digging the drag link set up! How do those Carli full springs work? Soft enough to let you use all of that 2.5 kings Tavel when moving quick? How are they when you have weight in the bed?

I'm using them in conjunction with Thuren shackles, so yes I'm capable of reaching the full potential of the Kings. I now need to modify the drive-line or fuel tank skid, due to slight contact. No more excessive bucking & fish-tailing @ any speeds...they are beautiful even loaded with two full size spares, chains & gear.

Nice ya I had to notch my rear skid for the fuel tank also on full articulation my driveshaft was rubbing not a lot but just enough to make your ears bleed. I really want me some Carli full leafs now........and an axle truss lol

No full compression yet, I have not drove the truck hard lately. Maybe @ 1/2" taller, I can not recall.

They are said to work well and the only reason they are not used by the go fast crowd is that if you land (stuff) on one front corner or the other they pop out when side loaded with any real speed and you never know it until you hit metal on metal in the next rough section. I thought long and hard about those but just didn't want to risk it. I even contemplated drilling and putting in a screw to help prevent them from popping out but decided against that too. I went on a search for pair of DYSCO bumps and found a new pair someone had decided not to use when they went with hydro bumps.

The truck I showed you in that video that went bang and bent the axle had these on it for that very outing. One popped out then wham bent his axle on the next subsequent heavy hit. They are fine for light stuff and crawling but for what you plan I would skip saving a couple dollars and risking thousands!
