Pretty much. In these parts there's nothing to anchor with to winch out either. It was my bad on taking that line.
I see a Pull Pal in your future!

I've only been stuck once and there wasn't anything to anchor to either. A pull pal would be an excellent idea. I just wish they weren't so much. Still probably cheaper than getting a tow truck out there.

Luckily enough another operator I work with had a 1-ton and he lived on a farm about 40km away (that's close in these parts) so I could use him as an anchor point. Cell service isn't an issue in these flatlands.
And yes I'm eyeing up that $800 pull pal. So much for my canopy fund. Haha the sliders and pull pal will kill that

The last time that shit happened to me I buried a high-lift jack as an anchor point... Worked like a charm. Also, burying a spare tire in the ground works like a charm too

The spare would have worked.... If it wasn't already buried in the mud haha.

Until I get around to getting a Pull Pal, I carry a 6' piece of #5 - 5/8" rebar and a sledge hammer.

It's not "the" best solution, but if you drive it in at a 45 degree angle, and hit some hard ground and pay attention to it while winching for movement. I haven't used it on the PW but it saved me a couple of times with other vehicles.

45 degrees away from the truck I am assuming? Like tent pegs?
This way the force will help drive the peg in.
There's not much for good hard ground around here. Just soil and clay! Haha. Good grain country!

All I gotta say about the diff cover that just came in today. Bloody beefy! Now to paint it and get the fluid changed out!

Replace the bolts that came with the unit with grade 8 bolts, or the first time you smack a rock under full throttle the bolts will break off (the diff cover is ballz tough) just the bolts will shatter. Worth the trip to Lowes to get 8 bolts. Just sayin:)

Tremclad Orange at its finest!
Although, it does seem to look closer to Chevy's Hugger Orange. I like having that ONE (well two when I find a front diff cover as stout as this back one) thing stand out.
It looks good to me!
AMsoil fluid all around now too.
Now it is time to save for the wheels and tires in the spring! haha
I stole the orange idea from my buddy's jeep. He is in this video:

This is the jeep:
Notice the Orange.

So I'm sourcing out the rims I want to order for my truck in the spring and I have two choices for an offset. Either +12mm or -12mm..... If I recall correctly I think +12mm is what I want.... Correct me if I'm wrong.

+12mm is what I would do. I've got 0mm and wouldn't want them sticking out any further than they already are. - 12mm would be too much, IMO.

Awesome. Thanks. I found my note about +10 being important somehow so I figured +12 is what I'd need.
Just need few more pennies and I can order 5 rims (prepping the spare for when I get I knees bumper on the future)

Damnit wingy, now you got me wanting to Plasti-Dip my grill after seeing those pictures...............

I know I'm late to the game on this one, but I'd suggest the Aluminess rear bumper, too. However, I think the design lines might be a little off on the 4G rears (I think they designed it for the 3G). I like things to look like they were made to go in their place, not like it was just pulled off one vehicle and slapped on another. Then again, it might just be my OCD kicking in.....HAHAHAHA!

Well,I bit the bullet and ordered these up from Summit!
at $90/wheel with free shipping I couldn't go wrong! They were $92 from Tirerack, $150 from KXWheels here in Canada, and $93 from Jegs.
Got then in a 17"x9" with a 5" backspace/0mm offset.
