Ken, I was thinking the same thing, that we should have started an LED thread. When I get home if someone didn't move the posts to a new thread, I'll do it.

So I'm going to reclaim my build thread with a little interior mod I did earlier this week. For those of us with 4th Gen Power Wagon's, the interior lighting leaves a little something to be desired. I ended up adding a couple of LED strips in the console area. For $20 I figured what the hell?

Here's some before and after shots.

Posted these in the pic's section, but thought I'd throw a couple of them up here too. Just a couple different angles from my parents house and the four foot snow drifts they have.

Nice interior mod. Didn't realize they did that in the new ones. Cutting costs.

There is actually a single bulb led way up in the top by the head console that shines in that direction but not nearly bright enough. I've been trying to figure out how to be able to turn the interior lights all the way off while the truck is running. I don't like it when you turn the head lights off and the cab lights up like a foot ball stadium. My '07 I could turn it all off on the dash.

I only do what the majority of the 4 voices in my head tell me to. In most cases, I ignore two of them because one doesn't speak English, and I suspect the other is talking to someone else.

That single LED is a sad excuse for a light. I hated not being able to find my coffee cup on the way to work in the morning. Now that problem is solved.

So while I'm waiting to see what kind of wheels I want and for my truck to hit 30,000 miles before I get new tires I decided to add a new toy to the truck. I added a camera mounted into the front grill and the NavTV to allow me to use all the functions of the nav unit while the truck is moving.

Call me stupid but I don't really understand the use of the front camera? I am curious about it though as I want to do something like that on my truck eventually to be able to see whats right in front of the truck when wheeling! In fact, I am trying to figure out a good solution for tiny cameras to replace the giant mirrors after I rip them off the doors the first time. I'm sure that will happen on the UA.

Also, the NavTV is the back-up camera radio right? I don't have that in mine so I will need to have a separate screen which I don't want as I will already have too much "crap" in my truck with communications and navigation!

I've had to back trailers into some tight areas, and being able to see right in front of the truck would be nice. Essentially there is about 1 inch between the red stop line on the camera and the front bumper of my truck. Eventually I see myself getting a different bumper, and at that point I'll probably be able to see the front of the bumper. I think if you were doing some rock crawling this might actually come in handy if you don't have a spotter.

NavTV is just a program/computer that allows you to unlock your factory nav system so that you can use everything while moving. It also allows me to turn my back camera on while I'm not in reverse. It's not another TV Screen, it's just unlocking my factory nav screen.

My picture of the front camera being used isn't very good, so the confusion is partly my fault. I should have taken a better angle showing it was the factory setup.

Wheeling is a common use for a front camera, as you suggested for your rig, Bangg. I know if I had one, I would still have a straight bumper!

I just found out I can get a rear backup camera for my 2013 with a uconnect 5.0 ... I thought you had to have the 8 to get that option ... Guess that's another project to add to the list!

Line X looks great! Dumb question, I'm sure, but what all was involved with doing the bumpers and grill? Did you have to take them all off and just take the parts to them? Or did they do it while on the truck?
