Anyone down for one or all of this? Leaving Florida Oct 1st and headed straight for the Alpine Loop in Silverton, Co then off to Moab on Oct 9th. Be in Moab for 5 days, then Off to Hwy 50 across Nevada to Lake Tahoe and doing The Rubicon Trail for a week. Then off to Yosemite for 6 days// then Death Valley for 2 nights / Then off to San Diego camping and playing it by ear for a week or 2.

Any takers for meeting up? for one of the many,,, or the whole trip?

Let me know.

Sounds really awesome. I'd love to meet up. But we are closing on a house Sept 26th and I think we'll be too busy settling into the new home for the beginning of October to go tearing off.

Sounds like a great trip though.

I might be down for some Death Valley. Post up the details as you have them. I'm in southern Cal and can make DV in a couple of hours.

I think I will have to try most of this... Just a little too soon to see how it pans out. ;)

Cool. That is the itinerary, and would enjoy it if some PW peeps were able to join in at some points on the trip.

Cheers

I will be heading toward Colorado leaving the 8th of October from Ohio. Planned on going to Golden or Estes park area first, but I think I have the wife convinced to go to Moab first. I've never been nor know much about it, but would love to go. I'd like to meet up if we start there. What are your plans for accomdations?
Let me know and I'll see what we can make happen!

Do you have your plan for Yosemite yet ? It can be very difficult to camp anywhere within the whole park and damn near impossible to stay in the valley without reservations made before hand , especially with a truck and trailer . If you have any questions about Yosemite , let me know and maybe I can help.

Gun45, Man, wish I could make it. Silverton CO/Lake City//San Juan's is may favorite place! I just got my PW and just joined the forum. Wish I could have seen this sooner. LOL. Work is busy right now and no way I can take off during the week with such short notice (I pretty much have all my vacation time used up between the motorcycle trip to Canada back in Aug. & Elk hunting coming up in Dec.). Looks like you will have a great trip! Make sure you drive N on 550 through Box Canyon (Beautiful). True Grit café is a great stop for lunch or diner in Ridgeway where they filmed the hanging scene in True Grit. Love walking around Telluride and riding the free gondola. Make sure you drive all the way through Telluride to the end where you can check out the waterfall and watch people coming down Black Bear! When you are on Cinnamon pass on the Lake City Side (Alpine Loop) stop at American Basin and enjoy the view of Handies Peak. Not sure if there will be much left for wild flowers this time of year but this is my wife favorite place in the US. She literally wants to be cremated and her ashes spread on Handies Peak! HAHAHA. I told her I'm not hiking up there. Me and the kids will rent a helicopter. Have a great trip and let me know if you have any questions around Colorado.
