We (my wife and I) took about 1551 photos. Going to take me awhile to select the best and upload.

Tomorrow is Top of the World, with even more people here now. We had 9 total for the Trifecta. Even if we didn't ultimately all get across, everyone pushed their Power Wagons to the limit of their capabilities. And everyone is having a great time.

Let me know what your thoughts are about the decent from Top of the world, assuming you are going "counter clockwise" on the loop part of the trail

We (Myself, GTOmike60, nebmike & aearles) ran the hardest section of the loop first today (left side) then came down the "easy side" (right side) of the loop. That trail is torn up a lot more than it was last year. Both myself & GTOmike60 agreed, it's worse than last year. Especially the side that is supposed to be easy. But we took PW's with no sliders up both sides. Nebmike managed the left side with us easily. But EJS was just a few weeks ago and might have made the trail worse. But it was a fun day. And we only spent four and half hours on the trail.

But otherwise, no one had any real problems with the trail. Still and easy trail in my book compared to the stuff we did on Golden Spike. A few funny HAHA moments. Also, my brakes went to the floor amazingly. But only when I was in reverse, in low backing down the from the ledge.

I've been slacking on photos since our fun adventure on Golden Spike. So here are today's Ledge photos, as proof that everyone got to Top of the World. We have really been pushing these Wagons this week. Don't let anyone say they're too big or not capable. They can suck it.

Cool. I'm sure you know by now that I smoke the transmission in my truck. I only have 3rd gear left. Had to put it in 4low to get up the driveway! lol

MOAB 2017 - May 1-7

Post by yellowranger1 » Wed May 10, 2017 1:09 pm

Hey guys, we had a great time out there even though our trip was so short! It was nice meeting everyone briefly, we hit the road Friday night at 9pm and arrived in town just in time to catch the group Saturday morning to the trail. Huge thanks to everyone for the help spotting, it was awesome to see all the wagons making the trail look so easy. After steel bender we headed out to see picture frame arch which was really cool, until we got caught in a nasty lightning storm, lots of strikes 40-50' from the truck. Back to camp and had dinner, tried to stay up to catch the guys when they came back from town but I was beat so we called it a night.

I had my heart set on running Top of the World so we decided to pack up camp early and hit the trail, then drive home immediately after. Lots of seat time for us in the truck, but it was an adventure! Natasha and I have some pictures to sift through, I'll post them up later. Here's a few for now.

Really looking forward to next year, we WILL make it for more than a day and a half lol!

This was an amazing adventure. A complete noob at this type of 4x4, Rock crawling trails. Absolutely no way I would have attempted this alone!
I am grateful to have been a part of this group. This is a great group of folks, who have experience, are willing to share their experiences, support, guidance, and friendship. Super people!
However, I am still a little confused as to when to use the lockers! :D

I know I needed lockers and 4 low to get up my driveway a couple of days ago. I even thought about using my winch at one point....

Yeah, I smoked 'em, sometimes you just gotta #sendit

Bah-ha-ha!!!

If you turn the locker knob while you're in 2wd and just let it blink, it adds at least 100 horsepower. :secret:

Hope to see you again next year!
