We moved our trip back and will be starting in March, ending our trip sometime in June. We are hitting Colorado right at the end of our trip so I think we are in for Moab! Are we still looking at those dates early in May?

I am going! I'll be towing my trailer out there, so if anyone wants to camp together let me know.

I was flipping through my new issue of FOUR WHEELER and there is a story of a jeep jk group trail ride in Alaska, I thought how cool would it be to have a major magazine come out to cover the Power Wagons in Moab.

I'll be towing the Airstream with the Fam. Last year we were at Ken's Lake. There is a great boondocking stop that is free out there too, but it's a crap shoot on getting a good spot. If they're taken, you're out of luck. You can also camp at Sand Flats. For us though, there are only a few spots there that work. So we'll probably return to Ken's Lake. I'm not a fan of RV parks, so won't be doing any of those. A lot of other camping spots all over for those who don't care about cell phone reception at their campsite.

I believe PitSlave made mention that Moab has some regulations about group sizes, to big a group and they technically want permits and stuff. So, on the DL would be better. Unless we turned into a huge group of rigs. But we're pretty disorganized for that.

But who knows. It certainly would be cool.

I'm in Idaho but I'll be towing, so I won't be much of a fun caravan.

Start to nail the dates down soon. Have to make reservations. I have a sports car meet in Deals Gap the week of 5/15 to 5/21 that I'm going to. So that time period is out for me.

May 2-8 is Tuesday through Monday. That is what you intended correct? I'm assuming this is so people have the weekend to drive out there and can leave early if they need to be back home before the following week starts?

Before you start bitching about dates, I haven't seen anyone suggest some yet. :poke: So cut me some slack.

May 2nd was the date posted for this year (2016)'s start: http://forum.powerwagonregistry.org/vie ... =12&t=3379

So it's repeated here. May 2nd was a Monday and the 8th was Sunday. So it's a full week. Gives you a weekend to arrive, a week to hang and a weekend to leave. Or time to show up in between. I think most folks actually arrived near the end and left on Sunday, outside of me and Pitslave.

So just adjust the dates for 2017 for the first week of May. Monday is the 1st. So thru the 7th, Sunday. Boom. There are my suggestions.

We want to avoid anything big that might limit our time on trails, like not showing up on memorial day weekend or during Eastern Jeep Safari. Becuase you know, it will be crowded as shit everywhere.

http://discovermoab.com/calendar.htm#2017

I'm proposing the first week, unless someone has a better idea that fits everyones schedules. Just keep in mind, closer you get to a holiday, the more people tend to show up early. Or book in advance.

I like the first week. It's before some big events and the temps are still low. Closer to June, it starts getting HOT in Moab.

Hahaha whoa man, I wasn't bitching about anything you said you had event planning experience, I was curious if those days tend to help attendance or something along those lines. There I go trying to learn again... lol

That does make more sense now though. That sounds like a good time, I agree that we should try to miss the normal holidays. I'm assuming island in the sky or needles district?

Let's just call it for the first week. Seems like there is at least 4 of us that area already planning for that week.
