Baja pennisula May27th-July24th
Baja pennisula May27th-July24th
YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE
Wanted to throw an invite out to those that are set up for long term expedition type runs, to explore the entire Baja Pennisula from San Diego,,,,down Hwy1 surfing the Pacific coast ( to include the Santa Maria Salt flats south with an extended stay in Scorpion Bay) all the way down to Cabo, then turn North and run the old sand trails along the beaches to LaPaz then hang out on the beaches of the Sea of Cortez on the east side of the pennisula north back up towards the states. Desolate beaches, epic surfing, camping out on random beaches, Surfing, snorkeling, fishing, etc.etc.
I will be bringing my Ram diesel camper 4x4 towing an expedition trailer, that will carry a Arctic Cat Side X Side, a 12' hard bottom Zodiak with a 15hp outboard, 4 surfboards mounted to the side, Spare fuel etc.etc. (pics to come when the trailer is completed)
Staying off the main highways and running the beaches/trails as much as possible etc.
I did this run about 2 years ago for 1 month, and had the most AMAZING time of my life.... learned a few things,,,, and am going to hit it up again FULLY PREPPED with the right toys to make the trip even better.....
If anyone wants to join in for whatever leg, or whatever time they have to do this (2 weeks, 3 weeks, 4 weeks etc.) it would be great to have another rig join us, for "support" and good company... I did the trip 2 years ago with my Son. and have since considered the Baja Penninsula a MECCA!!!!!!!!
*****Cooking steaks on a desolate beach with dried cactus wood (in the middle of nowhere) with not a person in sight for over 150 miles. The stars are clearer than I have ever seen.... Walking down the beaches picking up the biggest damn oysters you have ever seen, and cooking them for dinner. surfing, fishing, meeting the locals,,, cold beers.. Beautiful surf, views, meeting others doing the same type of traveling, watching the Baja 500/Tacate 250 races going on... getting lost on the salt flats for 3 days trying to find your way to Scorpion bay, and almost running out of fuel BUT met some great locals in the small towns along the beaches,, HAND PUMPING FUEL from 55 gallon drums (from venders on the trail) to get your tanks filled back up (yes it is good fuel, but I was concerned )
Anyone interested? I know there are some hard core "expedition type's" on this site that might be interested??????

My wife and I did this back in the mid 80's and it was awesome. It was a prerun for the Baja 1000. I was supposed to drive the race car for 200 miles near the bottom with strict instructions to preserve the car for the owner to take over for the last 200 miles for him to cross the finish line. I had a blast on the prerun and spent just shy of 3 weeks doing it. Your going to have a blast especially outfitted with the right toys for all the different locations!

Re: Baja pennisula May27th-July24th
For sure.. It is something I recommend for ANYONE to do before they die... YOU HAVE TO DO THE BAJA PENNISULA>>> If anyone is interested I will forward them the itinerary for the trip,,, times, and locations and maps if they need them to find where we will be if you wanted to join in for a certain leg.. I will be quickly driving through the first 200 miles south and will slow WAY down once I get through Ensanada. Then start to take our time from Ensenada south. We will be staying on the beach trails as much as possible, with specific jounts on highway 1 to access the other beach trails/roads that hug the coast on the pacific side. we plan to stay 2 to 3 nights per beach with a 12 day stay on Scorpion Bay for the EPIC surfing, then slowly taking our time South. We will be avoiding the Cabo area, and jump on the sand beach road just East of Cabo, and will run the Dunes to LaPaz, staying on Random beaches along the way.
If anyone wants to discuss possibilities, just let me know.

Dang dude. If I was still down south I would seriously consider meeting up for a few weeks of this. I don't know how to surf, but I would be bringing a fishing kayak. It sounds like an amazing trip! Take lots of pictures!

Oh man this is good action. I Love Baja! So many great memories for surf, fishing, free diving blah. blah..........The place is rad.
I have grown up in So Cal and the place is like no other. If there is anyway to get there, do it. I doubt I can pull it because we already have travel plans for summer vacation but this is well worth paying attention to.

I only do what the majority of the 4 voices in my head tell me to. In most cases, I ignore two of them because one doesn't speak English, and I suspect the other is talking to someone else.
