Ok all you Alberta gentlemen, and scoundrels too!! As promised, I scouted out the Transalta road, NW of Cochrane, 30km's drive. Took just around two hours out of Red Deer. This "road" is only open until the end of March. I can go on the Saturday, March 14. Not a strenuous trail, but lots of places to play, and scenery unmatched. Who's in?

As long as my son doesn't have hockey playoffs I would LOVE to do this trip on the 14th!

Might even book a night or 2 in a hotel so I could break up the travel.

However, with all that water I would recommend anybody who goes on this trip is very thorough in sealing up their Smart Bar and locker connectors with dielectric grease and fluid film.

I will let everybody know once I know about my son's hockey.
Loving my 3/4 ton version of my old Jeep TJ!!!!!

If you're gonna book a hotel, stay in Red Deer, and we can have a beer or three!

I'll try but I'm not sure if I'l be off work for break up or not at that point. If I am home I'll try and get out. We have a cabin near Sundre so we can make a day of it.

I verified, and unfortunately, it does shut down end of March, the 31. Not own again until December 1.

Awesome. Looking at the calendar, the Saturday the 28th could work, or Sunday the 29th. But I don't have my kids that weekend, and I know my oldest would like to do it in the Powerwagon, vs the jeep. "Dad, it would be so much more comfortable" :)

Think of the fricken picture we'll be able to take infront of that waterfall cliff area. Man that's a stunning photo.

Looking at that map, what's the trail open till August?

I take the Ranger out with the family to the Waiperous Creek road every year, there is also another spinoff if you kick right just off the main road that is all matted up, but it's not for vehicles without lockers IMHO. Head past the last well site and through the ditch up the hill.

That would be a good run to.

Yeah, lost knife. I wouldn't wanna run my truck over that one, too many tight turns and miserable spots. Bad enough with a 4 door JK.

Hey 2wagons!! Don't trade off the PW. The cummins is way to heavy for the soft shitty trails out here! Buy a commuter if need be, like one of those Eco diesel 1500's ;), and you'll be styling!! The app is available for smartphones, I'll let you know what it is. And if you think this ones good, wait'll you see some others I know!! :)

Ya I'm gunna keep the wagon in diving like ten km to work. Maybe if we buy further out of Edmonton next year I'll get another beater commuter but I don't have space for a third vehicle right now at the new duplex which suckkkssssss! If I really get the itch for more torque I'll be charging the wagon me thinks

Believe me I would love to. I just started a big job this week and I can't get away from it till it's finished. Or the customer will have my head. And my wife will too when they call her looking for me lol. I grew up an hour east of edmonton on a farm between mundare and vegreville along highway 16. Im back there more often than not. So im not too far outta the woods. Soon enough I will make it out. Gotta show u pw dudeswhat a ex-pw owner can do with his super powered diesel PW. Lol. I'll be that anchor u guys pull off of when you get stuck. Always need that guy
