Whipsaw Trail In the Fall

Post by BANGG » Thu Jun 05, 2014 9:08 pm

Everyone, A four day event with two-days doing the Whipsaw Trail in Southern British Columbia is being formulated by myself. Tentatively it is scheduled for October 3rd to 6th. I am formulating the plan for another group I wheel with, but would be glad to see anyone from here involved.

Basically it would be a Friday afternoon/evening arrival at my house for BBQ/Drinking/Camping. Head out on Saturday morning and do roughly half the 50 mile trail. Camp on the trail Saturday night. Do the rest of the trail on Sunday and come back to my house for another night of BBQ/Drinking/Showering

The Whipsaw Trail is about 1 1/2 hours from my house on a beautiful drive!

P.S. If anyone is a golfer I could set up some tee times for us all the Thursday before. There are both 9 and 18-hole course not too far from my house!

Ditto ... That's a 30 hour drive for me! ... One way! Otherwise, I'd love to come.

Oh i know it is wayyy to far for most, but there are some more "local" guys here I thought might be interested! Most all coming so far are from WA and OR! I know a few here are from these and MT and thought they might be interested.

If you want to check the distance I live outside Oliver, British Columbia.

Man, I would love to do that trail one day!!! I am in Edmonton so I could do the drive out there in one day. I don't have any extra holiday days this year but maybe next year I could swing a trip out that way.

Haha, trust me, I am REALLY trying to think on how I could make this trip work. I would have to cancel my annual hunting trip I think, and that would be tough to do. Still thinking though....

So the first video said july and thay still got to play in some snow. How much snow will there be in Oct when your planning on going. I would love to do this, but not this year and not that time of the year. Maybe in the spring or summer after Moab since I will already be on that side of the continent.

Hey All, sorry for the hiatus but I have been gone for some time. Yes, this is still happening. In fact, I am pre-running it this weekend. There is a chance for some snow but nothing too bad. Then again it is weather right. It will be on the cool side I am sure!

If anyone is still interested in attending let me know and I will PM you a better description!

Hey Crawler, this is too short a trip for you to attend. And it's not all that difficult of a trail. I am doing a one week long assault of another tougher trail up here next summer and will keep you in mind. That would be worth your coming up for. But you will need to bring a chainsaw or two and your bridge building prowess. LOL

Damn! I don't care I just like getting in the woods, the scenery, the adventure, doesn't have to be a difficult trail to have fun. Just like getting away. Plus easy trails I won't spill my beer lol.
