Ace, my fuel tank skid is pushed up about 5-6 inches in the center, as is the bottom of the tank. It has been since last year. More clearance that way.[GRINNING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]

You could pull the 3 bars off and straighten them, or you could just flip them over and "straighten" them on the next trip!

RustyPW wrote:Ace. you do NOT need a new fuel tank skid plate! You can bend it back out with a large crescent wrench and a piece of pipe on the end of it for leverage. Don't even have to remove tit from the truck.
I'll try that before I order anything. Maybe tomorrow night.
My concern is that it's literally pushed against the tank and got to be careful with any tools to try to bend it with the tank against it. I just need some time to do it.
RustyPW wrote: Are you talking about the 3 bars on the frame that go front to rear?
That was on me!!! I forgot all about these things. They are actually missing because when my fuel pump went, I took, it to the guy I know at the dealer to replace it. It was too much of a job for me to do. When he worked on it, he had to drop the rails and skids, but the rails were partially corroded and frozen, so he had to tear a couple of them off. I just forgot all about it. They aren't that expensive. I'll get new ones and paint them Mopar blue ! :)
RustyPW wrote: On the trackbar. Are you talking about the bushing in the bar that is loose, or the trackbar frame mount it's self?
I'm not entirely sure. I know I keep re-tightening it. You went to the new design, right?
RustyPW wrote: When is the last time you have replaced the idler pulleys?
In Jan or Feb. The idler pulley locked up.
RustyPW wrote: The fuse for the hot water tank was a small 20 amp located in the bedroom. It blew when the squirrel cage for the front furnace came apart. Both are on the same 12v control circuit. The motorhome got so many different electrical systems I'm loosing count.
Complexity is what they use now days to simplify things. right? :o

As far as your Trackbar goes, I would suggest pulling the bar and taking a pair of calipers and measuring the bore size where the bushing presses in. Aaron at Thuren Fab mentioned the idea that some early Carli bars get warped from too small of a bushing housing. Carli assured me this was almost unheard of and only two trucks ever had this happen - until I measured mine and found it was .025" and .035" ovaled out. Even brand new bushings acted like old ones. My bar is Rusty's old one and he said he never bashed on the thing, no high speed or big crashes. Just something to check.

Also if you have a bench vise and a drill you can make those protective tubes yourself. Buy some tube, squish it in the vise and drill a hole

Rock rails highly recommended :poke: . If you don't have them we can stick to the trails that you shouldn't need them on. Worst case come out and ride along with one of us.
