Pedal commander

Has anyone tried one,the reviews sound great. I hate the throttle lag, especially with larger tires.

I made up 2 wires, removed 2 intake manifold bolts, inserted the round end, put the bolt back through & tightened em up, ran the other wire end to each fender ground. Just doing that made my "DBW lag" be reduced by 80%. The theory is: our 3rd gens have plastic/composite air intake runners & the air rushing over the plastic created a static electric charge (like plastic bedliners do), & the DBW sensor is right there. By grounding the air intake, it reduces the static electric charge.

The way pedal scammer works is that it takes the peddle position interrupts the signal and tells the throttle a new position. So if you depress the pedal 20% it tells the throttle you've depressed it 30%. It doesn't actually improve throttle response the way you could with a tune.

Here's the deal, you could achieve this with your foot. And to boot, once you get used to the new peddle sensitivity from it changing the positions, it won't fool you the way it does at first when you're like OMG my pedal is so much better.

I run a Bullydog gauge and watch my boost in the lower gears. 1st 3-4 gears and it's well into the 20 and up to 30+lbs with partial pedal and then 4th or 5th tq conv lock up and settles the boost down to about 10 lbs and up truck pulls harder than the lower gears. At idle while fueling or whatever outside the truck, I can hear the vanes moving vi the tune of the tail pipe. I understand John plays withe vanes in the tunes. Just not sure if this is normal.Been thinking about one of these Pedal Commanders for a while and recently purchased one. Received and installed last night.

it makes a huge improvment.

the comments about not actually increasing power, or your foot can just move faster is bologna.

it doesnt give you any more power, but it does make 50% throttle application read like 100% throttle and will help you modulate the power better when accelerating. when your on the highway and are looking for a kickdown, its right there, as opposed to a few inches away. it makes a difference.
it helps bring the downshifts sooner and at the right time.

ive had these on my jeeps and on the PW and both were helpful.
it is not a replacement for a real tune, and only helps a little as it relates to drive ability.
in any case....it helped me get to 17k without a real tune, but now Hemifever is on the way.

It changes the corresponding throttle to peddle position. That is a fact.

Your money is always better spent on a tune.

tune is always the best option. but at a price of the warranty.

you know when your cruising at just the wrong speed and at just the wrong rpm and even when you put pedal to the floor, the truck wont downshift?

when the pedal has 50% of the distance to cover 100% of the throttle, your little nudge, gets you the downshift, that you otherwise wont receive.

the truck is more willing to downshift with less application by the driver. this translates directly into better driving characteristics that HDs dont typically get from the factory.

I don't need it. I've owned one. I know exactly how they work.

theres no chance that any typical ram 2500 owner wont appreciate what the unit can do. not as good as tuning, but the factory setup is shit

$200 bucks for a stupid box or $200 bucks towards the $550 I'd spend on a tune. Easy choice for me to make.

Well, I dont really care what type of device it takes to make the truck drive better (weather it be a stupid box or an actual tune), but if it makes it drive better than I am game.

I have been considering one for a while. I might go with this setup instead because its a bit cheaper. I would think it does the same damn thing as a PC.

You can buy a resistor and change it yourself for less than $10 bucks if you really really wanna go DIY :p

If I had the knowledge to be able to that I would. But I dont. Im the kind of guy to pay the big bucks for something already “plug and play” per-say.
