Ridgid dual 18v compressor FYI
So, yesterday we were in HDepot & I saw this compressor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2OgnJZEqPCo It was $199. I was thinking I may save a little today with my veteran's card. Today website says Reg $298, on sale for $239. I have not physically gone to HD today, to see if they marked it up !
Upon further review, the more expensive one comes with an upgrade kit (1 small battery & a charger). I did not catch that first time i read it-sorry.

What's the CFM rating? Pretty slick otherwise! This looks to be the closest thing to the warn vct series that was discontinued.

Nah, not even close to the Warn, i think 2cfm. But still, I am already invested in the Ridgid 18v stuff & have the batteries. I think it may serve my purpose & is easily moved from 1 vehicle to another. I also already have 3 chargers, so both vehicles have the ability to recharge the 18v batteries.
Edit: 1.0 scfm @ 90 psi & 1.4 scfm @ 40 psi. Basically an inflater . http://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-1-Gal ... /300507507

Re: Ridgid dual 18v compressor FYI
If I recall, that new Ridgid compressor uses two batteries. I have a small 18v inflator and it uses a LOT of juice to air up tires, so I only use it at home when I want to top off or equalize tires. My PW has one of the old Warn big single cylinder compressors hard mounted as my OBA, and it puts out 12cfm free air flow. It's the next best thing to an Oasis.
Re: Ridgid dual 18v compressor FYI
Yup, they should make them again, both of them (the single & the dual).

Well, some asshole stole my DeVilbiss hot dog compressor (and a lot of other stuff), so I need to get a replacement. That Ridgid would be a good choice, IF it could also run on AC when there are no batteries available. Will probably get a Makita or Hitachi.
Re: Ridgid dual 18v compressor FYI
Yeah, I hear that. Not sure they were thinking there. PEOPLE LIKE OPTIONS ! How hard would it have been to incorporate 120v plug in & a switch to flip when running on 120v, so you can also CHARGE the 18v batteries ? THIEVES FRIGGIN SUCK !!!

Found a lightly used Bostich pancake with a couple of brad nailers and hose on Craigslist, so I bought it today. Not as good as what got stolen, but good enough for now.
Re: Ridgid dual 18v compressor FYI
Still really diggin the Ridgid battery operated compressor. https://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-1-Ga ... /300507507 I think I may upgrade the single charger in our PW to one of these: https://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-18-V ... /206961782 . That way, I can charge 2 at a time while using 2, should the need ever arise. Compressor uses 2, but will operate with 1, but it goes dead fairly quick. 2 is the way to go. It is just so handy with no cords to hook up or plug in. I find myself using it all the time.
EDIT: Well, don't that just suck? Just realized the "dual" battery charger only charges 1 at a time !!! Seriously- were they thinking ? So, you could buy 2 single chargers for $50 each & charge 2 at the same time. They need to fire that guy.

Re: Ridgid dual 18v compressor FYI
I had a chance to buy one for just over $100. I ended up not getting it thpugh. I have a few rigid batteries but they are only 3ah and they suggest 2 - 4ah batteries. I couldn't justify it. I ended up buying a bigger makita instead. If you have no other options though and have the batteries it's not bad. If it had a 110v plug I would have bought it

Re: Ridgid dual 18v compressor FYI
Yeah, I got like 6- 4ah & 1-5ah & 4-2ah batteries. Gonna try to get another 5ah one this Holiday season. Then I can use those for the compressor, as it uses the most juice of anything I have. Even more than the recip & circular saws. Yes, it should have had a detachable wall plug.
