New old source for synthetic rope and gear.

Postby Cactus Red » Thu Aug 04, 2016 6:12 pm

My 7/16" Viking Offroad synthetic rope is now seven years old. Bought it in July of '09 from Thor and Jon via Winchline.com. Also bought a lot of my recovery gear from them as well - extensions, snatch blocks, gear bags, etc, etc.

So, when I decided to replace my rope, they were at the top of my list. Jon and Thor have sold the business to family friends, so you can expect the same level of quality and service from Mike and Jamie that we got in the past.

Decided to go with 80' of the Fireline-AP 7/16 with safety thimble. I've used mine hard, and the safety thimble is a great way to maintain 100% connection to your rigging. With the choice of either black or orange rope, it was an easy decision to go with the high visibility orange.

Why only 80 feet? Well, I try to use the bottom wrap of the winch. The short length requires less work removing from and re-spooling to the drum. If I need length, I have two extensions for a total of 180" of length.

So, take a look at their site - it's a candy store for guy's and gal's with PW!

Fast shipping, great service. Got the rope installed in 10 minutes. I'll salvage the old rope as an extension.
