V1 Radar Detector & Rogue Mount

Post by 04Ram2500Hemi » Fri Aug 29, 2014 9:56 am

As a rule I'm not somebody that speeds, but when I was given a V1 I thought I should try to find a way to mount it that I liked. I ended up going with the Rouge Mount and wiring it up to my rear view mirror. Just a couple of ok pictures for those that might be interested.

Nice and a good price too. I got the Blendmount because it was the only one out there 4 or 5 years back.

I sent my V1 in for repair and an update last Tuesday because it was getting a little weak again on detection. I have a CDL so I use it mostly to to verify my speed when I enter revenue... Ummm enforcement traps. With a CDL here we are forced to pay the fine and to go to school while the points remaining on record against you. Seems a bit unfair since most if not all citations will be in your car and likely on a day off when your mind is elswhere while you follow traffic and bam your nabbed and forced to pay a huge voluntary tax.

I have a couple different angles I can share. From the drivers perspective it looks to be part of the bottom of the mirror. Because I angled the mirror up at the windshield pivot I can still use my sunshade.

My wifes Jeep but it shows the shade and that it clears the V1 now. We both hated the suction cups mounting system.

How well do you find that the v1 works. I've had cobra and bell before. Even had the solo. But that was years ago. I haven had a detector for a while now. But the v1 always intrigued me. Doe it work as advertised?

IMHO It is the only detector to own. Yest it works as advertised. Mount it high to get the best results. I have a CDL and can't get tickets or I risk my job. I would get a laser and KA band jammer if I was a real speed demon.
