My "spin" on mounting my RTT
I purchased my RTT, transport size is 48" wide x 72" long. It also had to open so that I could use the back of the box for additional space with the lower annex room attached. If I wanted to use the box / cap with the lower annex room, the RTTwould of needed to be mounted with the 72" dimension being across the box. It would of stuck out on both sides of the truck, would've looked weird, chance of damage would be higher, and a huge drag in the wind. I came up with a way to transport it more streamline, and it's mounted so that the truck cap doesn't support any of the weight of the RTT. Plus I can open the RTT on three different sides on my truck. I purchased the cap used, was lucky enough to find one that was a pretty close match to the truck color. I built all of this in my garage over the course of a weekend, so far I have about 1000 road miles on it, and about 15 nights in it. My 3 kids and I all fit in it, and they have a blast playing in it. Sorry about the 2 pics being upside down, can't get them to post the right way?

Nice work on the fab job. Is the inner cage removable? If it is, that's really nice if you needed to remove the topper for anything. If it's not meant to be, tying that thing into the frame would give you more rollover protection than the cab!
