it is on the outside and I did polish it with some stuff I had laying around, it's all good now....

Cancel my previous recommendation for the Warn SPI. Love the compressor, but Warn has discontinued it and they are not stocking any repair parts. Great compressor, but would not be a smart buy under the circumstances.

Here is their new dual compressor. 2x as fast as the Mv50.
